Intel or just a feeling?
Unfortunately, just a feeling. I think he loves the club and his mates there and I see him staying at the Bombers despite all the woes going on at the moment.
Roberts loves him
I canāt see why any established player would want to remain at Essendon unless they are adverse to success and enjoy sub standard injury management.
That makes a lot of sense given the position this club is in at the moment but there will be massive moves at seasonās end to change the S &C staff so that is one positive. Unfortunately, next year is a loss already so they need to get rid of a few under performing, disinterested senior players and bring in some fresh faces along with changing some of the coaching staff. 2027 onwards is the only light at the end of a long dark tunnel.
So they will all stay
RIP
I hope he takes the full 12 months and so minimises the chance of reinjury.
What was interesting was that nobody other then Durham or Roberts tried to exert any real physicality throughout the game.
At least Mansell and co were trying to be physical with their opponents.
Brad is allowing this next iteration of the Essendon team to be as big a bunch of wusses as every other list weāve had post 2005.
We had the āEssendon edgeā for all of about 2 rounds before wright got suspended and we collectively went back into our shells.
Iāve watched the replay many times and canāt see how Martin did his ACL? Did just buckle or was it contact from Mansell. My theory about ACLās is that if they just buckle, then you have a higher level of reoccurrence, whereas if the ACL occurs through contact then itās likely to reoccur. Anyway, I want Martin to aim for Round 1 because in my opinion, Australia is too conservative with ACL injuries. It appears that in other sports and countries you are often back in 8 or 9 months.
Seems the leg was planted just as he got bumped, which caused the damage.
Fairly innocuous and hard to pickup on first glance but it is there when you slow it down.
Heās planting his right foot just as he is getting driven forwards from behind with a lot of force, and the knee shifts inwards.
Neither Jones, nor Martin were injured on the artificial turf. Both injuries occurred before they ended up on it.
Except the injury happened well before this freeze frame, and inside the field of play.
So yes, your position is still ridiculous.

I have always thought that if is trauma that causes it, and not buckling then it is less likely to re-occur. I think full 12 months is wise as AFL is much harder on the body than most sports. Essendon is very conservative with knees so expect the 12 months.
