#42 Adam Saad

Yep, thought the same thing.

Played in front of more people than attended all his previous game combined.

Tonight was the largest crowd he’s played in front of by 5k and the largest home crowd by 26k.

Last time he and Smith played in the same game at AFL level a grand total of 8022 people showed up.

Welcome to a real club boys.

Worried he will be frustrating as a backman. He is Quick… but worried he might turn it over by foot too much… time will tell. 1 out of bounds and a pretty average kick to advantage i saw… and managing betts is not a 1 man show… plus they had Tex out etc… and down cameron… not overly convinced.

If Bags was playing last night Betts would have got the Crows home when we hits the front in the last. Baguleys days are numbered unfortanley

Betts played?

There was a moment where he tried to run between 2 crows. Got sandwiched, the crows bounced off him and he kept going. Don’t know how, but he looks hard to stop when he’s at pace.

According to a few of the current players, he is surprisingly strong and hard to nail in a tackle. Last night was not the type of performance that shows why we got him on board. He’s been recruited for speed, run and carry from the back half. Last night he had to sacrifice that side of his game to do a stopping job on Eddie, and he won hands down. To me be it was a more reassuring performance to know he can play like that than if he got his 20+ touches, 5-6 running bounces and 500+ metres gained. He will have those games this year, but we probably had our doubts on his defensive capabilities. He answered those.

Just no more kicking out after a point

Rewatched the last quarter this morning and there were 3 really strong defensive efforts in the last quarter that were key to restricting Adelaide scoring.

Happy about Saad

Saad has good hands in traffic.

Think he is a valuable player this year.

Betts’ seriously struggles against blokes that are quicker than him.

His old man seems like a cracker, and he seems like a good lad

Is there a clip or link Ben? Only saw the jumper presentation but that was over quick.

The interview with him post game has an interview with his Dad in it

He was fantastic last night, did the defensive things beautifully and then when he had the chance attacked full force.

What surprised was his leap and courage in the air. Really flew a few times. Had no idea he had that in the kit bag. Super game really. He broke the game open in the third when we were up against it to create a goal and Conor did the same in the last. Both were very very important
