#43 Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti - WALLA MACCA TIPPA - joining Tiwi Bombers

Very sad news- hope he can get through this time & be in a much better place asap - regardless of whether he plays footy again. We will miss him.

Walla is doing the right thing for himself by taking leave. The club is doing the right thing by looking after him. But it makes me very sad that we might not see him at his best again. Such an important player for us. Get well soon walla

I just want to see a happy Walla, irrespective of if that means he is playing football or not. Good to see the club is supporting Walla the person, not just Walla the footballer.

Such a shame. There’s obviously a lot more than the calf injury going on. Let’s hope he gets well and comes back when he’s ready.

Could have done with Stengel unfortunately.

Very disappointing but sadly predictable outcome.

All the best Walla.

Get well walla most importantly.

We are screwed though. Lack of small forwards killed us in the elimination final.

Bravo to the recruiting team for not doing something about it all off season.

Thanks for being the single most exciting thing watching this club in recent years.

Wish you all the best and happiness in the next phase of your life.

I have high hopes for lord in the future but reality is we can’t expect a pick 53 small defender who we are experimenting as a forward to be impactful in his first season.

He’s not GONE … he’s just travelling through a mix of setbacks. An irritating calf doesn’t help.

Such natural skill never departs. When he’s ready he’ll be back and if the team needs he’ll be involved. It’s important we as a club accommodate all our players. And Tippa is definitely worth taking care of.

He’s 29, struggling with a calf injury, overweight, serious personal dramas in the background and out of contract at the end of 2022. I’d be surprised if he played more than 3 or 4 games for us this season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t play any at all.

He is more likely to never play again than to ever reach 80% of the heights he reached throughout his career.

Looking like a sad end to a bright career here. :frowning:

people got on here and said the exact same thing about mozzie, even to the point of ā€œhe’s put on alot of weight so as when he shrinks down he’ll have bigger musclesā€ :man_facepalming:.

he is gone, it’ll be a hard task to stay elite sports fit away from the club and club environment, esp for like it or not aboriginal players.

the best you can hope for now is he gets his mental health right and enjoys his life outside of football sooner rather than later.

Sad news, but glad the club are allowing him the space to work through things. Get well, Walla.

We tried to recruit Rosas from GC- he didnt want to leave.

We tried to get stengle - he wanted to work under Eddie at geelong

We tried to trade for Hill - GWS refused to let him leave.

Cant say we didn’t try
