#43 Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti - WALLA MACCA TIPPA - joining Tiwi Bombers

Anzac Day has a glimmer of hope about it for Tippa, another game of good disposal and goals will certainly raise the question

Wasn’t very exciting at the end of 2021 when he was dropped for having no impact for 5 weeks. He needs more VFL games.

I’d be amazed if the players weren’t required to keep diet logs.

I’d pick him. He looked fine to me.

when Walla kicks his first goal back in the AFL, people are going to lose their minds

I honestly don’t know about that, but I’m pretty sure skinfold testing is still a thing.

If you had to pick the team tomorrow, are you going Tex or Walla?

Watch the game when you can. He’s still not fit. The highlights are great because of course they are, but he’s still not running like he needs to yet. He just needs more time.

I watched the whole thing, albeit not live.

Walla, no hesitation

Fair enough, then. In that case, I just disagree.

How fit do you reckon Wangas is?

Walla is at risk of getting injured if he comes back unfit.
I would love him back for Anzac day but we really need to take the long term view.

I would give walla 1 more week in the VFL, then bring him in Anzac Day.
its been like 3 months post calf injury, cant worry about that…
Snelling should have been made to come back through the reserves on limited minutes, if we are saying Tippa is a injury risk.

Langford last what 5 minutes.

Tippa is as Durable as they come generally, just look at his consecutive games.
1 more week building fitness and he should be cherry ripe.

Not very. What Tex has is the explosive pace to chase, apply pressure and tackle, though. Even if it’s just in patches. Walla hasn’t shown that he has that aspect of his game back in the VFL yet. I’m also concerned that the added speed and intensity of AFL football could lead to another injury to an unfit Walla. That’s the last thing anybody wants.

It would be very tempting to bring Walla back in. He would have to add more than multiple guys who are currently in the team. But the risk of injury from playing while underdone has to be considered. I’d give him at least 1 more week in the VFL I reckon.

For those who didn’t watch: TIPPA started in the middle.

He did look to have lost a few kgs between the Casey and franga games

Missed the VFL game but did see this snap of him from it where he looks to be similar to his playing condition prior to taking a break. One of the few things keeping me from completely throwing in the essington towel tonight
