As much as I love Walla and want him to play AFL asap. He is a while away with his fitness and where we are at a club we need to enforce standards to play AFL.
If we let him play in the condition he is in then there is no hope setting standards for the younger players.
Yeah, and his 2s form is going to continue to be up and down while he burns down back to playing weight. I suspect he’s doing a mountain of cardio during the week right now, far more than most players would do during the season, and sometimes that’s going to leave him with heavy legs when the weekend comes round.

I understand what youre saying but the condition hes presenting in atm with that gut would not be a good reflection for all involved.
Hes obviously working through things but that gut cant be let anywhere near AFL level.
No club these days would stand for that from a senior player

We cant demand higher standards and then seek as fans to have Walla play seniors. We
would be just as guilty. He plays when he can run for 4 Qtrs.

To be fair though, a lot of players currently in the senior side aren’t running for 4 quarters.
They’re jogging for 2 quarters…maybe.

He should be busting his balls to get back into the senior team and help them out.
But no, he gets 4 touches in a second rate comp and gets paid handsomely in the meantime.

In his presser Truck seemed to have ruled out Walla returning. He’s out of contract at years end, it’s looking very grim.
His fitness might be out of his control to be blunt, if he’s recently been prescribed antidepressant medication it can often cause weight gain.
I hope the club can support him in future endeavours because he basically single handedly drew fans to games in the clubs darkest time.
