How would you know that?
From the couch, he looks along way offā¦ā¦which makes me sad.
Because he is getting double/tripled teamed all the time and the vfl game is so unskilled scrap fests ,
Oddly enough, history shows some players perform at their very best at the elite level.
Letās get some of those.
Agreed, he really is a long way off.
Must be hundreds of miles from your couch.
On the VFL footage he just looks like he is shuffling around.
That said, there have been plenty of times in AFL games where he looks the same, and then suddenly BANG! itās like he hits the Nitrous Oxide.
I agree.
Isnāt even playing with the same zip that he had in the VFL prior to be selected for the seniors.
His progress is steady. No need to rush him back.
Iāve heard his palms are sweaty.
Too much mumās spaghetti.
Poor fella is in health and safety protocols now. Talk about an interrupted 2022.
Given heās strung together a few VFL games after everyone had basically decided heād never be able to walk again during the preseason I think heās tracking okay and made significant progress.
Iām certain thereās been some serious thought put into wallaās return to play approach and if the involved parties feel heād be better off in the VFL for the time being then so be it. I love walla just as much as any other Dons fan and I canāt wait to see him running around in the seniors (although has been great being able to see him, alongside the rest of the seconds on kayo).
Not training today
To the eye, he looked as large as heād been all year in the VFL match on ANZAC Day.
Heās a legend and we are missing him dearly but he looks a long way off it and itās frustrating that he doesnāt appear to be getting into better shape despite being back at the club and playing week after week in the 2ās.
Heading into iso now isnāt ideal.
Obviously it goes without saying after his struggles that him being happy is the primary objective. Itād just be nice to see him be in a position to do his thing at AFL level again.
I will be happy if he lines up in Rd 1 next year.
Not if it takes our fitness staff 12 months to get a player up to speed.
Would have been nice to aim for a Dreamtime return (Rd.10), though its looking increasingly unlikely.
Prob going through the motions so can still pick up a pay cheque.
To be honest, if he isnāt fully fit and playing well in the AFL by the end of the season- not sure we should be in any rush to sign up him up again for next year
