Bloke called Sharp that only got 4 CBAās for the whole day yet led us for centre clearances with 3 ( should have been a perfect 4/4 but the chump incorrectly called him for a throw)

Watched the VFL replay, tsatas was really good and a really well rounded game, except for as usual his defensive intent which was putrid. Honestly, this bloke, how can he not even try running defensively after this many years of being overlooked for that exact reason? Even Goldstein mentioned it. Look at Huss he picked up on the advice to tackle more within a fortnight.
They need to tell him forget about possessions, youāll only get a game if you have a certain amount of tackles and run in defence at around the same speed as he runs in attack.

Sometimes, players just donāt make it at AFL level.
Good coaches and list managers detect this quickly and move the players on. Bad list managers recruit them in the first place.
Hobbes got 65 games, averaged 15 disposals, 3 tackles, in and under was the only thing that kid did. Perkins averages 13 disposals 2 tackles, chats up girls when itās down the defensive end. Neither particularly known for doing much when the ball isnāt around them, like many EFC players current and past whoāve had good runs at the level. Give him a farking run at it, shows more than so many others even with the deficiencies that are put up in neon for him but discreetly mentioned on occasion for others. I know itās the dumbest timeline and all that but come on

Hereās the other thing, heās gotten better by foot but is still very much a handball king and very good at it, like Jobe was. Tackling, defensive running, definitely skills/mindset that can be taught. You donāt burn ball magnets because theyāre still getting lessons

He is nothing like Jobe with his handball. Jobe would routinely take on a player and ride the tackle before releasing the ball at the perfect moment. Tsatas is quick to move the ball on before there is any body contact. Itās why he has such an unusually low score involvement stat line.

Ok, he handballs a lot, like Jobe, because he gets the ball a lot and feeds it out. I didnāt say he played like Jobe. Heās also tracking a shittload better than Jobe at 21 in almost every facet of the game, so, again, give the kid a farking run at it.

Ha, you win! He was wretched in his first 3 years though. We could do worse than getting him into the club and telling his story to the likes of Tsatas and quite a few others
Iāve said many times that he has deserves a shot but Iām not sure where he fits in currently or who he pushes out of midfield rotations. He canāt play anywhere else on the field so that makes it harder

Itās interesting that the the mids we have who can only play mid and nowhere else - Setterfield, Parish and Tsatas - have ended up in the VFL together 6 weeks after Solomon started.

Yeah, I think these days you need to be more flexible. Tsatas might have got a look in if Solly had continued to play Zac in defence but now that he has been pushed back into the mix and with how quick Robey has impressed in there it does seem like Durham, Caldwell and Zac will get most of the midfield minutes with Robey and Sharp prioritised next

Yep, that does seem to be our midfield mix now as all can spend productive time across HF when not in the middle.

Maybe a few bursts by Kako and ADW just to mix it up a bit. I couldnāt believe my eyes when I saw Caddy in there to start the game though 
EFC got Diesel Williams (yes I know) in to coach our midfielders some time ago. He was a handball specialist and not really known for his tackling.
Maybe they can get him back to coach Tsatas on his midfield craft.
Teams these days also need midfielders to get more than 15 touches per game, but that hasnāt stopped Caldwell getting games.
I think we need to stop pretending that Tsatas is the only one with limitations in our midfield.
Being mediocre in multiple areas of the ground is not some kind of virtue.

Caldwell has been poor this year but was very good on the weekend. Was given a shutout role on Oliver and performed well.
