#5 Elijah Tsatas

I’ll agree to disagree.
“Pointless exercise in stupidity “ is a throw away comment aimed at diminishing the value of what any contrary view might have. It’s a cheap shot and has no place in a decent conversation.

In any event, I think his kicking is incredibly unreliable and has no potency and in my view his game was nothing of note.

I would be interested to see how Archie Robert’s might go.

Ther is an opportunity cost in playing Elijah, but we don’t know what that is.

Not sure, but i thought it was very noticeable watching him at under 18 level, which i did a fair bit of. I actually thought Davey was a good kick at under 18 level, weighted his passes beautifully which we haven’t really seen at senior level yet.

I actually think Hobbs kicking is not as bad as some say.

And although it’s not great or stand out, his goal kicking is stand out. He really has an eye for goal, that shot notwithstanding.

Groundbreaking Observation

That’s not the point he was making though, he’s saying why do the same old group of posters come in and take shots when he clearly had a positive game in a position he was not drafted in.

People are welcome to their opinions but it just seems a little bias when there’s actually not much to complain (unless you want to nitpick about one kick out of 16 disposals) after last night’s performance.

An AFL player should be able to kick well off one step! I’ve told this story before but when my son was in U10s KH came down to his club along with a tall Collingwood player whose name escapes me. Anyway he was explaining to the assembled kids how to hold the ball to kick and turned to demo a short kick to a parent helper a few m away - me, as it turned out. Ball dribbled along the ground! When I drilled it back to him he laughed and said “do it like that”. True story! He was a ripping bloke and great with the kids. Stayed forever for pics with kids and to sign things.

He is still poor, but I see improvement. Most of them are at least spinning right. Some games last year that wasn’t true. I don’t think he’s confident/good enough to pick through a zone, but hopefully he gets there.

D’Ambrosio is a good kick. WSPHU

Just to add a bit of fact to the discussion. He had 7 kicks total, with 4 effective kicks. A similar rate to Zach Merrett and identical stats to Perkins and Durham. Better than Wright, Kelly, Guelfi and Caldwell.

I just read the last 40 or so posts in this thread. My mistake, l have learnt nothing new, no insights gained. That will learn me. Actually it won’t, l will continue to read more pointless posts, but that is on me. Carry on.

Chris “Draino” Drain’s boy Pou had 17 touches in the VFL, the boys over at west pac won’t be happy with that

Darcy Parish had a tendency to kick floaters in his first few years. He’s now a competent kick, whose inside work is his real weapon.

I anticipate the something similar from Tsatas.

PS. Should we all just submit to the tyranny of autocorrect and call him “Tastes”?

The issue with tsatas kicking is that the mechanics are ■■■■■■. He’s worked on that a fair bit, and his action looks a bit neater. I think it will take a fair amount of time for him to feel comfortable with his new action and actually kick with a degree of confidence. It should come with time, I don’t think the kicking is a fatal flaw but it’s an area that needs a lot of attention to get it up to an acceptable standard.

Yeah, I agree re loopy kicks but he has kicked a goal from the 50 metre line not long ago.

Yeah he has lightning hands alright. Skip to 5.08 minute mark.

Hold onto to him, I think he might mature soon and surprise a few people.

About as pointless as this post I guess. Every 40 or so posts, someone writes the same thing.

I don’t really get how people get so excited about this.

That’s just a regulation handball.
