Tough to see him go. Long been my #1 at the dons. Success is always a mixture of hard work and luck and I have always felt Leroy has long been unfairly criticised by fans as lacking in the first category while not being on the right end of luck. Perhaps luck is individually constructed. I'm not sure. Anyways, some of my best dons moments over the last eight years have involved Leroy, so cheers bro. good luck and will support where ever he ends up!
Does he have offers?
I hope he gets another chance at AFL level. Good luck Leroy… thanks for your efforts at Essendon.
Gonna have to restock the wagon
13 - GUMB - gone
14 - LEROY - gone

“Departed” the club… more like told he was gonna be delisted. He barely played a game in years so its hardly a shocker.
ENTER TIPPA.
I'll put my hand up and say I was one who said that he was going to make it and wouldn't accept any argument to the contrary. Turns out I was wrong. At least as far as his career at Essendon goes.
He seemed like an extraordinary talent as a junior but that never translated to more than glimpses at the top level. Clearly he lacked endurance but whether that was due to a lack of hard work or other factors is impossible to know from a fan's perspective.
He also seemed to lack confidence when in possession of the ball which meant that he would look to pass off rather than kick for goal or take the game on with his pace. Again, whether that was due to natural shyness or external issues we'll probably never know.
Anyway, like others on here I hope he gets a chance at another club and I don't see the point in calling him a 'pea heart' or whatever other derogatory terms have been thrown at him by some in this thread. He served 8 years in the red and black and deserves our respect for that.
Good luck for the future Leroy, I hope it works out well for you. Was very excited when you came to the Bombers - sorry it had to end like this.
All the best, Leroy. A shame it didn’t work out at Essendon - the talent is certainly there - but hopefully you get an opportunity elsewhere.
Thanks Leroy, I remember shouting at you, “pick it up Leroy” at the end of the 2009 Anzac Day game, then going ballistic when you kicked it. Kids thought I’d gone crazy. Thanks for the memories, and wishing you well in the future. Classy parting message too.

I think when Leroy was drafted, the game was still played in a way where his flair would have made him a solid best 22.
Unfortunately, that year was also the start of the conversion to what is now "modern" football.
Likely would have been a 200 game gun in the 80's or 90's, for any team he played for.
It was a classy exit, by Leroy & the club. Pity the drama queens had to sully it.
If I ever get within the distance to that flog Barrett, I don't think I could stop myself from kicking him fair in the nut's.
Thought there was a year or two there where looked really good, and expected to return and get more midfield minutes. Instead for unknown reasons you drifted into obscurity. Real shame.
best hopes for the rest of his life.
Hope he gets a gig somewhere else. Kinda like Gumby without the injuries. You just would like to see him playing somewhere.
Good luck to him, Hope he gets a gig elsewhere. Fresh start.
I'm an unashamed Leroy fan. I'm sad he is leaving the club, but it was obvious in the 2nd half of the season that despite being consistently in the best in the VFL, he was never up for selection.
I hope he gets another go at it.
Thanks Leroy, I wish you all the best.
Hopefully he gets another go somewhere else, though it’s probably unlikely. There is no questioning his ability.

Lol wut?
The leadup to his suspension for diving he was having a great run of games. Never seemed in it after that suspension though.
I personally think he deserves more love around here than ****ing Lovett, but I'm probably on a losing wagon with that call.
If he goes to Sydney and becomes the player he could have been, I'll be happy for him.

He would've been the first targetted in the 80s or 90s.
