Yeah he was definitely quick.
Going to kill it next year............
On celebrity Dancing with the stars.
celebrity?
doubt anyone outside of essendon knew who he was

Everyone knows him over the staging incident. So dancing with the stars is quite appropriate.
Leroy makes his debut up here in the NTFL this week.
He joined Froggy playing for Palmerston.
good on him.
He'll kill it at that level.

Love em both
For those wondering he went well in his first game in the NTFL.
After a slowish start to the match he did a number of classy things including a brilliant goal from out of the centre.
does the fact he is playing in the NT suggest his afl career is over. You'd think if there was any interest in him he wouldn't be up there.
surprising, i thought someone would pick up up as a free agent.

On what evidence exactly?

Yeah potentially. But it is recognised as a reasonable standard competition and a best on ground performance wouldn't hurt. If clubs see that he is dedicated in looking in very good condition it would certainly help his cause you'd think.
Not sure if this video will work for everyone but here is a ripping goal Jetta kicked in yesterday's NTFL match. It also shows a pretty impressive grab from him during the last quarter.

Fark me, when did Leroy start making (legit) >70m kicks?
WSPHU (just goes to prove highlights mean nothing — if it was a kid, we‘d be using this as proof he's a monster kick…)
Reasonable standard as far as suburban leagues go.

Lots of talent but not many going to get picked from there.

He has always been a good long kick. Just rarely used it...

Reckon the EFL boys would kick their arses. Territory football is massively over rated.
Was at the game on Saturday and was shocked to read he was BOG. He wasn't.
Froggy was way harder and influential.
As I wrote in the Benfti thread he was in and out of the game caught ball watching most of the time.
So much so the coach gave it to him at 3/4 time.
But when he got the ball he was a class above as per the highlights.
For reference NTFL is a good comp but because of the heat there is little defensive running. When Jetta played it was 34 and around 70% humidity. So many players have bad habits.
Nothing to do with the talent pool. There are some absolute freaks. But it's simply to hot to focus on 2 way running.

Purely down to coaching.
Notice every bloke who drops out of AFL because they can't hack the team & defensive side of things ends up in the NTFL (Waylon Jetta Cupido etc etc etc) ?
Makes for good watching but surely a big, big part of why AFL clubs recruit a lot less from the NT than they used to. Sad, particularly when guys like Davey & Wonaemirri cut their teeth as basically defensive players.
It's not coaching.
It's two things.
Weather
Brand
Watch any AFL team that comes up here. There are little to no 2nd or 3rd efforts.
Gia said two seasons ago that you simply can't do it. So it's not just an NTFL thing.
Don't get me wrong. Tackling is great. But that all happens within 5 meters of the ball.
Defensive gut running is non existent.
So the coach has nothing to do with how the team play footy?
LOL.
If a coach wanted to get an actual team playing actual footy, they'd focus on that, and it would happen.
When the AFL teams come up here they still tackle, they still defend, they still work.
