It actually just looks like a Darco shoe.
We (well, the podiatrists) normally use them to offload things like diabetic foot ulcers. Not 100% sure of why they’d have him in one in this case tbh.
Also must say he’s moving better than I thought he might be when it said he needed to learn to walk again.

I don’t know anyway, I think I’d like the idea of a friend organising a go fund me and hearing that so many people donated to help me. It would also make me feel more comfortable knowing that I haven’t put anyone out financially.

If I was Welsh Winda would be sorted, and he probably is but it would be kept private. The Go Fund Me probably has a specific purpose and a feel good element to it. Maybe people have been asking how to contribute and the Go Fund Me was a by product of that (the mechanism).

I’m not in any way passing judgement on Welsh as I don’t know the detail, I was just thinking about the concept of your post in general.

It’s more the fact that if they read up the Thread further, they would’ve seen the comments where people were told to knock it off when referring to Welsh paying because he was successful in business.

Tbh it looked more like a compression wrap/bandage. Though obviously could be an AFO underneath.
There’s a velcro strap across the top of his shin. Compression bandages don’t need straps.

Looks like your standard AFO with a compression bandage over the top of it.
Darco could just be because his normal shoes don’t fit over the AFO, or if he doesn’t have good foot control could be there to artificially stiffen his foot.

Glad to hear Jason is doing well.
However that go fund me is a bit… icky
Why ? Read the blurb and seems ok to me.
What is the icky part ?
Well paid sportsperson who runs a successful business gets go fund me started by well financed individual asking the public for costs up to 75k which they can probably afford themselves, and include such things as adjustments to his own business which he probably has mates in the industry that can do them on the cheap.
This isn’t what GoFundMe is for in my view. But again, glad Licha is doing well.
