Damn I hate to say this but Shiel reminds me a lot like Judd with his great lateral movement and strength and also the shoulders. Top get, but now the hard work begins for the rest of the team.

Agreed. Definatly thought this early on in his career aswell. Just the way he moves and gets the ball and breaks packs.

Judd is a flog. But he was always a level above the player Shiel is, Judd was a special player both early as a goal kicking mid and then as an inside mid post groin issues.

Shiel reminds me of Shuey more than any one else.

Shiel should be playing more inside for us than he did for the Giants this year which will allow Merrett to spend more time on the outside and up forward where his kicking would be best utilised.

Not sure I like the way Jackets goes about it, our deals always seem to be the ones that cause the most angst and go right to the wire, hence the reason why our reputation in the AFL in terms of trades is what it is,

If by always you mean 2 trades in the last 10+ that we have done. All the rest have been done easily and timely. High profile trades are always going to take time and negotiation.

At least our trades get done. Handful of trades in the past few years haven’t gotten done but nobody calls those teams ‘hard to deal with’

We had a hole in our list that we’d be trying to fill through the draft regardless so to go a large way to doing that already means we can draft with some freedom to select best talent rather than position.

Plus, we are a destination now. If our tradees keep singing our praises, we’ll get more interested and that’s the key to trading these days - not your hand as much.
