Not that i disagree with his comments on Perkins, but do you guys reckon Barrett actually watches the footy? His knowledge these days seems terrible and he never has any scoops from the industry either. It’s like he is sick of it and just going through the motions to earn a salary.

The fact that he’s actually focusing on Perkins is bizzare. He’s the least of our worries, and I’d hazard a guess and suggest people outside Essendon don’t even know he exists…

i think its fair to say that if we are to improve then perkins is someone that needs to go to that next level which also includes being more consistent

He was on the Today show this week doing the normal AFL/NRL segment, and the difference between what he offered and the NRL was stark. NRL guy spoke about what to expect on the ground from teams/players, where as Damo just chatted about opening round fanfare and it been in the northern states. Just offered the AFL promo lines.

But you’re right, it’s like he doesn’t watch football.

I think he does watch a lot of football. But he doesn’t know a lot about it. He’s looking for a story, rather than watching it like a fan, except maybe his North Melbourne games.
The actual football in his mind it is secondary to whatever dirt he can dig up or sensationalise.
