Certainly are!
Came across a few very wet bikers who were heading down from NSW. Glad to be on 4 wheels today.
Camping in the mud will be fun

Hahaha… way too old for that! Cosy cabin in Cowes.
(Over 400 camp bookings were cancelled a few weeks back due to the conditions…not happy campers then. Conditions will be challenging to say the least….plenty of liquid needed to numb the pain. I have packed my waterproof paddock boots!)
Goulburn Valley Hwy closed at Seymore, Whitehead creek flooding High Street. The Hospital backs onto the creek…
Heaviest rain in Melbourne is expected between 5 and 11 this evening.
Ditto the central and NE districts.
Thomson Dam expected to spill for the first time since 1996.
Melbourne Water Storage Levels web site has crashed. Hmmm… Govt conspiracy to stop us knowing that the dams are actually empty!
Yeah sure we need this really expensive desalination plant……
The most ironic thing about the desal plant is that it’s prone to flooding.
Caravan Parks are being filled with essential workers on the Peninsula, squeezed out of the rental market.
The southbound lane on Punt Road near the Monash Freeway is shut due to flooding and emergency services are on site.
Has the Flinders Street Underpass flooded yet?
That is the usual flood barometer
Accommodation down here is like hen’s teeth. Bookings taken 12 months + in advance. The 400+ people who lost their camp spots will have found it hard to get a stay anywhere.
At the island now….wet, foggy, cold. Hoping things improve for the weekend. Plenty of very wet bikers heading over the bridge.
Weekend looks nice.
Appreciate ABC TV Sydney giving some time to the floods in Victoria and Tasmania, that people living outside NSW could be part of their viewing audience.
