i think the short break is certainly a factor.
cats had 5 clear days, port (one of the harder running sides in any event) had 7. also the cats played a very very taxing game while port played the bruise free eagles.
the age profile of the cats wouldn't help either.
port deserve all the credit but don't doubt for a second that the fixturing favoured them
So it is possible to go from basket case to top in less than 2 years. Hats off to them.
Despite our recent form I still believe we are building in the right direction. Can see Port become one of our fiercest rivals in the coming years.

I was at the Port game. They’re very good. If they keep up this form we’ll be in for a hard time in July. Their supporters are really loud and are going nuts. Adelaide Oval rocks.
