Ed Kavalee’s favourite podcast episodes of all time. Really good listen and a really good bunch of ideas.

Richard Marsland’s prank calls using Warrick Capper’s voice grabs is brilliant.

Couple of fairly fluffy movie podcasts I like are the Rewatchables and How Did This Get Made

Rewatchables talks about cult favourite movies, with their category discussions being quite fun (best scene, best minor character, most overacted performance)

How Did This Get Made just pays out on sht movies and has three very funny people making it - Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas & June Diane Raphael (names you may not immediately recognise but if you Google them you will definitely go “oh THEM!”)

Also if you were ever a fan of D-Generation, the Late Show, Martin/Molloy or Get This you need to check out Sizzletown if you haven’t already. The premise is “Tony Martin hosting a late-night call-in podcast”

Incredible how Martin was patient enough to wait 30 years for the absolute perfect medium for his humour.

Spotify have now locked in an exclusivity deal with the Joe Rogan podcast.
I don’t personally listen to JR so doesn’t bother me too much. I completely understand Spotify’s strategy of buying up all the best podcast content, but as a consumer I absolutely hate this move.

I do listen to a lot of Gimlet podcasts - another property Spotify purchased. I think with that deal they release earlier on Spotify but not exclusively, thankfully. I can live with that, but exclusivity is gross. I have 4 streaming services for TV/Movies. It looks as though as the podcast market matures it might be going down the same route :frowning:

I’m very picky about my podcast player, I think I’ve tried at least 10 or 15 podcast apps on Android. I’ve never tried Spotify because I know it lacks the features most podcast enthusiasts have come to expect.

its not bad, but its not good, and having a 2nd app for the same content sucks.

ie. love pocket casts.

I just have the apple podcast app, dont see the need to get other podcast apps.

It is so simple to stream to multiple platforms.

Overcast!

Yep.

Horrendous sellout move.

Only footy forum I post on is BomberBlitz.

Hope he’s getting more than the $0.00001 per play that musicians get from spotify.
