My expectations were pretty low for the season. But that hawks loss has shocked me. Welsh needs damage control fast or this will become a runaway train he can’t control.
Simpson is right 0-6 is a very real prospect.

You’re correct, but the precedent has been set with former tough talking ‘highly regarded’ millionaire presidents and nothing’s ever changed. They’ve gotten worse.

it’s 0-10 and then you’re only real chance at a win with richmond and west coast, and that is going to come down to injuries, if we have a few, those 2 will roll us.
kangaroos and melbourne were the only 2 likely potential 50 50 games before that, but having seen how they’ve performed in round 1 so far, there’s no wins in those 2.
going to be a long season, but lets see cos if it’s 0-10 the jungle drums will be calling for scott to be sacked, will welsh do it though ?

Sitting up in Presidents club with the arch enemy looking over and sniggering would be very embarrassing.
Brad won’t last long of we don’t see immediate improvement.
Most of those games will be massacres, I think Power and WCE are the best hope, but even those games are interstate.
Welsh will only move if he has someone like Longmire lined up. But if they break St Kilda’s record losing streak of 26 games it’s hard to see Scott hanging on.

Should be making overtures to Longmire now, and setting things in place for the inevitable depature of Scott.
No to Longmire with stuff all stoppages happening his game plan is outdated it’s all about fast ball movement and scoring quickly the game now

We don’t yet know which coach is the best with these new rules.
Wont be Longmire or Hinkley our best chance is to hire a young assistant from a successful club.
Longmire is someone we desperately need; has won a premiership and overseen a successful club with a winning culture. Also, hes uncompromsing on the players and won’t keep playing duds who fail to do the basics.

Getting Longmire is repeating the past mistakes of hiring Worstfold and Brad again.
No more ex coaches hasn’t worked for us go find the next best coach that’s coming up the ranks.
We want a young hungry coach who will grow together with the current group of younger players we have started to accumulate

I agree, that a young and hungry coach may be able to get more out of the players, especially someone the likes of James Kelly, Enright or anyone with ties to Geelong. But who knows? With our luck they’ll just end up infected with our toxic culture once they enter the club.
