He’s a symptom, not the cause though.
There is no single cause, and in an age of mass media and social feedback loops the line between symptom and cause is very blurry.
He is undoubtedly making things worse.

Of course his is, pretty much all of them are, and he is leading the charge.
But the divide between whites and hispanics, whites and blacks, and hispanics and blacks has been very strong for a very long time and is not improving for the most part.
This guy didn’t wake up one day, listen to Trump,and decide to go crazy, this has happened over a few years and he has probably been surrounded with it.
One way to reduce the amount of “mass” shootings is to increase the number which classifies what a mass shooting is.

Donald Trump isn’t to blame for the access to firearms, but he is responsible for the fact that, since his rhetoric has entered the public forum, hate crimes have risen and that funding to anti-domestic terror strategies and programs have been slashed.
But the whole right-wing in american politics is responsible for this mess; whether it be the corruption that continues to allow these gun manufacturers to sell military grade weapons to the general public, or the wilful misinterpretation of their founding document that prevents their regulation, or the absence of a public health system that can treat these crazies, or the militarisation of their culture, or the inflammatory, often insane conspiratorial rhetoric used by politicians and media figures to provoke their supporters to take action against “their enemies” has obviously lead to many different counts of inhumanity.

The broad profiling indicators of lone wolf mass murderers are a personal or political grievance, a gradual desensitisation to the idea and/or experience of violence, risk or status seeking and a so-called ‘unfreezing’ whereby the individual disconnects from the everyday. There’s also usually a history of weapons use or familiarity.

Was just guessing what’s colour, age etc. the shooter was/is.
Got friends in Ohio, so hope they’re ok. But it’s a pretty tough place everyday, so assume they’re keeping safe.
