I think a lot of them have a sport mode.
I have a Samsung and it looks just fine.

agree iāve had a $1k 4k sony bravia thats 52inches for a good 5-6 years, and i swear a lot of new tvs that cost a lot more look a lot worse
Yeah good call on the Sony Bravia. Mine is about 8 years old and still going strong. Only problem is Netflix no longer supports my model so it wonāt run on the TV however you can still cast Netflix from phone app.
Iām in the market for a bigger TV and have been recommended one of those OLED numbers but not sure if itās worth the cost.
I had NFI either, and I went to Harvey Norman in Hopper Crossing of all places and the guy there was great. He showed me AFL on a number of screens and told me all the pitfalls. He didnāt even sell me the most expensive and we got a Samsung which is great for footy. The only issues have been when I had Kayo which is just crap resolution. Foxtel and Seven are fine.
I was not convinced at first, so I went to JB HiFi in Melton and the staff there were great, they showed me a cheap HiSense and the footy was poor, same broadcast on the Sony Bravia, Samsung and LG was much better.
I am in market for a 75 inch 7nit and will do the same and get them to show action stuff, live broadcast if possible.
Have had a NVIDIA shield for years and donāt see anything else coming close
Is that like a pro version of google home?
Best android version of an apple tv really. And better than apple tv in a lot of ways worse in others. But itās also a 7 year old device
Probably a new version under development if they havenāt put all of their R&D into AI
Nah no one goes powerful stream boxes anymore. Just ā ā ā ā ā ā dongle ones
Is that because a lot of the functionality is now built into the TVs at extra cost?
Buy a Chromecast ever 2 years compared to 1 device 3x the cost every10? Doesnāt make sense for these ā ā ā ā companies
I was reading that you can get your old laptop banger with (I have no idea what software) and plug it into a dumb TV for good results. Anybody done that?
That means itās just an overpowered stream machine.
I run my home media server this way.
Still say the satellite version of Foxtel has the best resolution by far.
Anyone got powered wireless speakers?
Need to fit out a new room, budget $1500
Have a am single Sonos Era 100 speaker.
Sound is not bad. I like that you can cast or airplay instead of just Bluetooth (but it has that also).
What I donāt like is it seems to throw ads in.
For example, if I listen to an SEN show on podcast on Spotify while connected to my headphones I get no ads.
If I cast to Sonos speaker via Spotify app, then it starts shows with 1-2 god awful American ads. I have paid Spotify. Despite the speaker being good, this is enough to make me not recommend it.
Wow. Thatās crazy.
A friend had Sonis and I found it really hard to connect.
Iāll try road test some things the week.
Sounds more like a spotify issue rather than a speaker one.
Ive got Sonos and reckon they are overrated. Maybe the new era models are ok but I have the version before and they annoy the heck out of me for pairing.
If youāre in the Apple ecosystem then Iād check out their HomePod range.
Road test them at a Apple Store first
Appreciate the tip, Iāll find somewhere to demo it, but I find their store āexperienceā very underwhelming.

Wait.
Apparently the Spatial Audio apples does is genuinely good.
A mate who obsesses over his music loves his.
They started coming out just after/same time I invested in Sonos and if Iād know how frustrating Sonos can be? Iād be with the Apple HomePods in an instant.
They get great reviews on all the HIFi websites too
