Me too. And although Tarantino is given a writing credit for the movie, he’s only made absolutely minimal changes to Elmore Leonard’s book Rum Punch.
Just saw the new Transformers movie, I really liked it. Pretty good story, some great action-best transformer movie since the 2nd one imo
I’m actually tempted to go and see the new Jennifer Lawrence movie.
For its comedic value no doubt
I’ve already worked out which raincoat I’ll wear.
I’m waiting for it to come to streaming, so I can watch it after the missus goes to bed, because I like to focus on the production and script and take notes…
Last time I went to the flicks in Warrnambool was The Dry, and I was one of three in the audience. Mid-afternoon weekday session. And the two old ducks buttonholed me to tell me that the priest at the funeral used to be one of the Warrnambool priests (never convicted - or accused). So I’ll be buying a choc-top together with the bag of Twisties.
Django gets better with every watch; it does get let down somewhat with the splatterfest 3/4 through however.
It reminds me of the goodies episode showdown at the ok tea rooms, or whatever it was.
It’s the one for me that I think has aged the worst, along with Inglourious Basterds. They so strong for the first 2/3rds and then become incredibly goofy troma movies and it diminishes all the previous tension. Still both very good however. It works for me in OUTIH because during that entire movie I had a pit in my stomach anticipating the Tate murders and so it needs that zag into silliness.
That explains a little why l am not greatly enamoured with Tarantino’s work. The movies start out very well, great story lines, good character development, and then he can’t help himself all that gets thrown out and the movies just become a blood flood.
Yeah that’s a fair enough complaint. His next is supposedly Taxi Driver influenced, so probably expect more of the same.

I refused to even read the plot line in wiki let alone watch once upon a time knowing the details.
Pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t.
That Pitt scene with his dog was pis$ funny though.
Exactly. I thought OUTIH was absolutely ruined by that ending. It destroyed everything that had been good up to that point. That’s why Jackie Brown is the best: everything has been great up to the end, and the end rounds it off on exactly the right note.
Pulp Fiction is good too.
I wonder if you and I will ever find middle ground (meant in a very nice way) and have a similar reaction to the same movie.
The final 10 minutes or so in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was the only good part of that colossal waste of time.
It was classic Tarantino…the rest of it was a huge borefest.
PS: and there it is at the end of your post (which I somehow missed)…we both like Pulp Fiction
Lock Up was on tv last night one of Stallones best movies imo.
tarantino is like the cohen borthers, and wes anderson, somehow got a cult, but if you dont vibe them, its pretty boring
Really good movie, so underrated
Was shot in a real prison with real inmates

Really? I found it to be a colossal pile of steaming crap.

Was shot in a real prison with real inmates
With real soap scenes?
Just childish isn’t it.
