ignoring context, this is one of the most incomprehensible sequence of words i have ever read
Wake In Fright sorta vibes from that clip…i like it.
Saw furiosa tonight. Was good, not great
Waaaaaay too much CGI, Fury Road seemed a lot more real and gritty. This felt way too polished and pretty fake in places
Hemsworth was very good
It’s a hard act to follow to after Fury Road- one of the greatest action movies of all time.
This had good action, but nothing really blew my mind like Fury Road
George Miller has created an amazing universe.
The storyline is pretty good
The costume designs etc are fantastic
i haven’t watched it yet, but found anya taylor joys sooking about her role a bit much, also has a bit of whiff of an eh actor
I’m not really interested in the movie, but the overuse of CGI struck me just from the trailer. It’s almost as if they’re deliberately used to make whatever scene it is seem unreal, fake, like a comic book. I thought that the whole point of the earlier Max movies was that they really did smash up lots of cars and stuff.
Yeah, she has just been given the role of a lifetime and she is complaining. She isn’t even that good in the role imo
i’m not gonna look it up, but i’d be real confident her parents names on wikipedia link to other articles
thats MBE father and granddaughter of someone important to you bucko
Not watching/don’t care about Furiosa but Anya Taylor Joy was great in The VVitch and Norfman.
Home for the last few days sick. Watched a mixed bag of flicks across two days.
Netflix
The Running Man -1987. Not sure whether it’s aged that well, but some standard Arnie one liners to keep it ticking along. I’m assuming the book’s pretty good!? Surprised they haven’t tried a remake tbh. 6.5/10
All Quiet on the Western Front. The tragedy of war told in all its glory. 8/10
Disney
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Pretty good. Maybe 20mins too long? 7.5/10
A Haunting in Venice. Not bad. I get sucked into a murder mystery. This one was a little different. A few scarier moments. 7/10
Book is a lot better. I think it’s actually a short story format. By Steven King under another name, from memory.
It is indeed.
Richard Bachman.
My favourite of Bachman’s is The Long Walk.
There were two other short stories…I think one was called Rage (about a student school shooter before it was…I mean I don’t want to say, cool…).
I’ve forgotten the other one.
He did Thinner, as well.
Running Man, I think, had a kind of countdown happening in the chapters as you read.
I loved reading that, also writing both this and running man decades before reality tv was very prophetic.
Let’s not mention the way the Running Man book ends…
It would be interesting if the adaptation is as gritty and political as the book.
The protagonist is far beyond driven by hatred.
Not something they ever tried to portray with Schwarzenegger, and probably wisely so.
Well there you go!
Old Henry on Netflix
Enjoyed it.
