At the movies - From the couch

I watched Outside the Wire.
Not a bad movie, lots of action, lots of guns.

New Restricted trailor for Mortal Kombat out. Looks better than the original (30yrs of tech upgrades does that) but no Johnny Cage?! WTF some Luke Cole bloke instead… GGF!

Josh Lawson as Kano lmao

I just watched The Dig, the story of the discovery and excavation of an Anglo-Saxon ship in Sutton Hoo in Suffolk on the eve of WWII.

Carey Mulligan, who’s now 35 (I was shocked) is the 55-yo wealthy widow who hires Ralph Fiennes, an amateur archaeologist, to excavate a serious of mysterious mounds on her property. Lily James, Ben Chaplin and Ken Stott are archaeologists brought in to help.

Well worth a squiz if you like history films well done. I’ll even admit I’d never heard of Sutton Hoo till about 2007.

2067, terrible dont do it to yourself.

Saw The Little Things tonight. Really enjoyed the first 3 quarters. But the last 20min really lets it down. I see what they were going for, but it just fell flat and left a very unsatisfying ending imo

All sat cast though. Denzel, Leto and Malik

I watched it a few weeks ago, enjoyed it even though I found it a bit slow. Good performances by all.

“So you liked Justice League but didn’t think it was quite wankerish enough”

Saw this one last week and liked it a lot, in particular the performance of the two leads.

Hunter Killer. Not good.

I’m looking forward to the Snyder cut of justice league. Really liked what he was doing with man of steel and Batman v.s superman.excited to see his vision for justice league

Whedon just completely destroyed the movie and ruined some of the characters

Agree, it was less than impressive.

For an action movie, I thought it was fine.

l thought for an action movie, it showed that the genre is a bit tired these days.

When was the last action movie featuring submarines?

Featuring submarines? Probably Greyhound.

Set on a submarine? Not sure…

Damn it…I needed to be more specific with my question.

So…When was the last action movie set on a submarine?

Crimson Tide is a good submarine movie.

Crimson Tide was released in 1995…so if that’s the most recent, it was time for a new one.

(Just checked…U571 was released in 2000)
