For some reason it was a big song at my school in country vic, they played it over the speakers and made us dance to it in ‘music class’. Wasn’t particularly big on the radio in oz either as far as i remember.

NutBush is such a weird one. Im not certain but I think it was a relatively minor hit in the states at the time of release, vanishing quickly. But I think we (Australia) clung to it and invented a dance to go along with it.

My brother inlaw is American and had never heard the song until he came here. Its weird how some countries can just sort of adopt something and totally absorb it. I believe there is a Donald Duck cartoon shown on National TV at 3 o’clock every year on Christmas day in Sweden and everything stops for it. And its not Christmas themed…I may have that wrong…
