Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

Never in a million years is Jacinta Price leading the LNP. They’ve used her to destructive effect where she was useful and will look to do so again but she isn’t leading the conservative white man’s coalition of Australia, no matter how hard she preaches daddy’s bible. Angus or Sussssan to take the money and run to corporate consultancy with the enhanced resume.

they will use her as a token and make her deputy is my call . angus will be the leader . well done Angus , well done
this will create a huge war within the coalition . I love this.
we will soon find out how low the poll can go for a “so called” mainstream party . I reckon there is a huge opening for a new conservative party to emerge over the next few years . if turnbull and a few other had the stones , now would be the moment

Do the Libs still have safe seats?

The ALP took that opening a while back. They are the new conservative party. Took the centre, showed some leg to the right and kept a pinky toe in the left. Hopefully that pinky grows now they’ve removed the poison carcass of the Libs from the cities. My bet, they, the independents and the Greens keep at each other at the expense of the environment and unity on issues that matter, and allow the LNP to shuffle its dead ideas back into the mainstream.

Meanwhile the Nats grift away keeping their constituents misinformed and doing not a thing for them.

Not in the NT.

Lingiari (regional NT) is solid Labor. Solomon (Darwin/Palmerston) flips between Labor and the CLP (not the Liberals).

Firebrand Northern Territory Nationals senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s shock defection to the Liberal Party has been condemned by one insider as a hostile takeover attempt and a form of “desperate branch stacking” to boost Angus Taylor’s leadership hopes.

In a move regarded as assisting a power grab by the movement’s conservative wing, Senator Nampijinpa Price said she wanted to help the senior Coalition partner “rebuild and be strong for the benefit of the country” after Saturday’s devastating election loss.

Senator Nampijinpa Price’s move allows her to join Mr Taylor’s team in his bid to clinch the leadership, in a potential leadership ballot against Sussan Ley on Tuesday.

There has also been speculation she may seek the deputy leader’s role in a joint-ticket with Mr Taylor, whose camp has denied suggestions of any deal.

The dramatic defection triggered a flood of reactions, with one senior Liberal party room source likening any attempt by her to secure one of the party’s top jobs to former Queensland Nationals premier John Bjelke-Petersen’s failed 1987 Coalition-splitting campaign to become prime minister.

“It’s like Joh for Canberra,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because party rules prevent colleagues from publicly criticising each other.

“Angus’s economics and Jacinta’s Trumpism have been rejected,” said the top Liberal source.

“These are not the people to save the Liberal Party. These are the people to kill the Liberal Party.”

In a statement late on Thursday, Liberal leaders said the party would meet at 10am on Tuesday in Canberra to elect a leader of the opposition and a deputy.

Anonymous senior liberal party figures being quoted as being anti conservative (even if 100% correct - Taylor is dim and Price antagonistic) it really does feed the Liberal party narrative that the ABC is biased against them.

They should only quote people willing to go on the record.

Otherwise it’s just bullshit.(imho)

They do exactly the same to the other parties. But if you mean the lnp are a grievance party and prone to crying victim in order to advance their aim of breaking the abc up or stacking it with right wing types, then sure.

What’s Julie Bishop up to these days

She’s the UN special envoy for Myanmar, among other appointments.
Because of her UN role, she has to stay out of politics.
She swans her way round the world and here as a fashionista, sighted at some glitz place in Morocco during the election.

Bishop wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the trainwreck the Liberal party has become these days.

What about Christian Porter? He was spied at Duttz’s wake. I mean they’re letting any old Christian in these days.

Ah the promise of those glorious days, benches laden with talent as far as the squinting eye could see. Frydenberg, Porter, Bishop, some other evil lawyers…

After seeing Prices interview on the ABC election night I honestly can’t believe anyone would think she’s going to be a good leader. She was a disgrace.

And they could look no further than Hollie Hughes. She was scathing of Taylor a few days back.

That ship sailed at the peak of LNP narcissism which continues to this day, LNP misogyny, and ALP bigotry specific to her which itself continues to this day. A formidable adversary for Albo IMO

So business as usual for her, then.

She’s been on the Myer or DJ catwalk with Nadia Bartel no less , finally made the A list.

Among other attributes prized by the LNP, yes

Reckon she would be pretty happy with herself.
She has got away from the dropkicks in Parliament and within her own party and no longer earning a pleb government wage.
