Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

You love it when we hurt you a bit more.

No, I don’t.

I don’t at all.

I am less and less engaged with every Essington imposed hurt

Just, FWIW, the Liberals in SA will definitely still hold some lower house seats.

They currently hold 16. Using the electoral pendulum (as I cbf doing anything more detailed at the moment), it could drop to as low as two or three seats assuming a ~12-13% TPP swing to ALP as suggested by current polls.

Miss this one Smooth?

A manhunt is under way after a man was stabbed by a stranger on a bus in Sydney’s inner west overnight.

Police were called to Addison Rd, Marrickville just before 1am on Thursday following reports of a stabbing.

Or this?

A woman has been found dead on a beach in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The grim discovery was made at Mona Vale Beach early on Thursday morning.

The reality is, every city in Aus has crime issues. The focus on Vic is utterly ridiculous.

The focus should be on how to reduce physical crimes that happen across the country.

Not political point scoring.

That’s not correct. The weekly Sunday protests and the heightened violence and aggression at some of these protests in the CBD is at a worse level in Melbourne than other capital cities.

You are drinking the cool aid.

There has hardly been any violence and that comes from someone that thinks the Palestinian protests are stupid.

You and others keep going on about this and elevate it as an issue, but not about the violence against women and pedophilia of children.

I know what is a bigger issue.

I’m not downplaying violence against women etc.

Fact is, the CBD has become protest central on Sundays and people aren’t feeling comfortable going into the city when these protests are taking place. Certainly a Jewish person wouldn’t dare going into.

If they’d got tough on these things early on then it wouldn’t be a ‘Melbourne’ thing at all.

I haven’t heard a single person say or do this.

They say it on Sky News all the time, therefore it’s a fact.

Except for the Jewish people who support Palestine rights, and there are many of those in Melbourne who publicly condemn Benjamin Netanyahu and I guess those who have businesses that are open in the any Melbourne Centres and Arcades.

You have no idea.

In fairness, DMapes hasn’t seen any Jewish folk in Melbourne’s CBD for ages.

A part from a few coppers and some protesters, who has been injured to make it such a hot topic item above other more serious and frequent crimes?

Probably upwards of a third of my mates in Melbs are Jewish. They aren’t going into the CBD on weekends atm. They just don’t want to. They don’t feel comfortable and don’t want confrontation. Even if in reality the chances of running into trouble are low, they can’t be bothered. They’re really just normal everyday folk.

Apart from some extra traffic it has been unremarkable going into and around the CBD multiple times recently. I mean they are weekly protests right, shouldn’t we be seeing ambulances, looting and burning on TV every Monday morning for over two years.

The main protest has officially been paused, it’s interesting a certain type of protest really brings out the violence. Funny that.

Also, funny that certain media outlets jump on this to blow things up for a certain state, but not others.

There is no argument to be had here.
Melbourne consistently rates as the best city in Australia, across a number of issues.

The Global Cities Index, compiled by Oxford Economics, provides a comparative assessment of the world’s leading urban areas using consistent data and methodology.

The Global Cities Index evaluates the world’s 1,000 largest cities across five categories: Economics (30%), Human Capital (25%), Quality of Life (25%), Environment (10%), and Governance (10%). These categories are assessed through 27 specific indicators to determine a city’s overall performance and ranking. Two Australian cities—

Melbourne and Sydney—were ranked in the top 10 globally. Melbourne was Australia’s highest-ranked city at sixth place, improving from ninth in 2024. It performed particularly well in Human Capital, ranking 12th globally due to its strong higher education sector and skilled workforce. Melbourne also ranked in the top 20 for Economics, the top ten per cent for Environment, and shared 15th place with Sydney for Governance.

Brisbane rose from 27th in 2024 to 23rd in 2025…

Genuine question: Is there anything about them that easily identifies them as Jewish?
