Landed gentry versus woke sea-changers!
Thatās just because Labor and Liberal are both rubbish.
Iām no more biased to the right than you are to the left, Tezza.
I might struggle to see any good on anything left of centre, just as you donāt see much good in anything right of centreā¦
See my pointā¦
In truth though, I did criticise the LNP and its policy platform during the lead up and election. You mustāve glossed over it.
Gina needs to have a chat with fellow magnate Clive Palmer and Elon Musk ( if they would even talk to a person who is just a billionaire ) 1.46% of the national vote is not exactly a massive endorsement of Trump ideas in Australia. Funny, Palmer appeared on a panel eager to pass comment on how badly the Libs were doing, but I did not hear him say anything about the 1.46 % electoral fizz he got for his buck.
He genuinely did not care about the political outcome. It was an easy chance for Clive to become centre of attention for a while.
Heās a multi-billionaire. That whole advertisement effort was pocket change for him.
I dont see any good in the liberal party since and after abbott. I have already said a few times I dont mind Crisafulli to a degree so far. Let me check, Yep heās LNP
You willfully ignore that. I have also said Im really keen to see a genuine battle for the middle, you wilfully ignore that.
Thats exactly what you do, all the time. You have a very weird default, I just find it compeltely unbeleivable that someone can be dead centre for a deacade on not voting becase they are exactly the same as each other. They could not have been more different in this election, If you looked at their signature energy policy, renewable firmed by gas Vs Nuclear, couldnt be any more different. Nuclear was not only a fantasy, but would have ruined the entire renewable industry and set the country back for 20 or 30 years. That alone is a significant reason to have voted, and voted hard agains the Liberals
Keep backing a losing horse.
No I donāt ignore anything. My point is weāre both very biased to our side of politics and thatās that.
I see major policy failures and risks in both sides platforms and I think you would too. So we likely agree on that!
Somebody has to run the govenment, sitting on the fence and refusing to vote does not and never will make things change. Dont let the good be the enemy of the perfect
Your last sentence is valid. Only problem is I donāt think āgoodā is necessarily accurate but we could argue that until the cows come homeā¦
They are exactly like the greens, all or nothing. If they had any brains they would give up on this fantasy immediately, but they wont, They will never admit it was a terrible policy they wont be able to negociate any legislation, they have dealt themselve out, The only ones getting policy through now is labor with teals and greens negocitation in the senate. Liberals are now irrelevent probaly for at least 2 more terms if not forever
Thereās been chatter that the NSW Libs were undermining Dutton and leaking to the media during the campaign.
Now Hollie Hughes is going full bore on Angus Taylor.
The Nats have lost their Deputy, a NSW Senator. Bridget McKenzie might see an opening after being snubbed last time. Wait for Simon Benson to talk her up in the media.
So maintaining low unemploylment while halving inflation inreasing bulk billing and opening urgent care clinics, handing very decent wage increases to low paid hospital wage earners ad child care worers, child care rebates ,getting more nurses into aged care homes,
There is more , but none of that qualifies as good? Geez your a hard marker. Not everyhing spins around grocery and house prices, The liberals talk about small government and getting out of the way but dont apply this to labor. They expect labor to control and fix every problem tat exisits
They wouldnāt be climate change deniers by any chance? Or perhaps in the other camp; those who reluctantly admit climate change is real, but that humans have not caused it?
Or do they just have shares in coal miners?
The only other explanation possible is these guys are just plain and simple
They are officially out of any menaingful climate and energy discussion from this point onwards, by the time they get anywhere near the chance (if they ever do) to get into real goverenment again the renewble power industry will be more than proven and up and running. They will look even more ridiculous by then. There is going to be some bumps in the road, but we are well on the way now
She certainly doesnāt represent indigenous people.
Without any knowledge of that, I assume the moderates would be the ones doing any undermining. The watch now will be to see the fight between the moderates and the conservative factions. Thatās probably central to the wrangling taking place internally (and externally) over the next period.
No, Iām more interested in the bigger policy platforms like the ones relating to housing affordability and energy. I think thereās more than enough scepticism about the likely outcomes these policies will have on our living standards and cost of living. Not to mention whether theyāre deliverable or not.
BTW, most (majority) of people are worse off than 3 years ago as reinforced by the quarterly GDP figures.
See, we could go back and forth all day like this
