I’d be very unhappy if I was the woman giving birth on the side of the road because of their actions.

I’d be very unhappy if I was the kid she had, aged 21 and facing a life of protein sludge for brekky, lunch and dinner, 46 degree averages in Summer, and virtual animal friends for down time between stints on the resource war front with Indonesia.

How have we reached a point where it’s not ok to both be a supporter of climate change action AND think those ■■■■■■■■■ that blocked the bridge should be punished?

Like my union comrade morons who closed the bridge in 2022 or whenever it was, these fools have actually harmed their own cause by highlighting their selfish stupidity to the broader public, rather than the climate shifts that are happening.

And seriously, there are blitzers who appear to be suggesting that a woman who has to give birth in a traffic jam should be thankful for the direct cause of that traffic jam coz it’s kinda…well nebulously…no, frankly spuriously done in the name of her newborn??? Go and have a lie down and consider the import of what you’ve just said, ffs.

Edit - oh, and it gets worse because the female blitzer who has actually given birth to two children is then given a lecture on the future as an offset to her actual, real world, I’ve done this opinion.

Sending these ER folks to jail is the right thing. There must be a deterrent. Otherwise the stunts get bigger and the disruptions get larger. Protest peacefully on the side of the rode. Put out your signs and get motorists to “honk” if they support climate action. You have the right to protest / but you don’t have the right to block traffic and disrupt others’ lives

You know the one where they told us that if we go past 1.5C that that would be dire for our future and tipping points would come into play thus speeding up warming and natural disasters. Well the last 6 months have averaged around 1.7. And people are angry at a protester?
