Is that on the back of a general negative view of the LNP Australia wide?
Because, from afar, Marshall has seemed largely inoffensive.

Reckon the end of last year covid outbreak was the problem. People were ■■■■■■. Before that I reckon no problems.

Now labor is using the ramping issue as it’s main focus point.

The amount of new estates that are being built on paddocks that are often underwater for most of the winter…… it’s just unbelievable.

Absolute stupidity.

Mainly from his mask mandate and other Covid issues.
The state has never been in a better position in many ways but people don’t care about that. He will lose the election based on his recent handling of Covid, his big backers are traditionally the hotel barons but they have turned on him big time

Yep, it’s a huge issue but I do find it bizarre that Labor had 16 years straight in power and destroyed health with Makinauskas personally closing two hospitals when he was in charge and now all of a sudden he is going to “save health” in SA. I think Marshall deserves another term despite my disagreement with some issues

I really don’t like Malinauskas at all.

I’m not a huge fan of him but he is better than scumbags like Koutsontonis and a few others in his party. Liberals have their fair share of scumbags too at state level

Australian Research Council ( acronym ARC) says look homeward angel when Stuart Robert vetoed its recommendations for research grants.

Local Councils and Developers do not set the planning and environment rules. In Victoria they are only done by the State under the Planning & Environment Act, and then the Building Act sets rules for types of dwellings.

We have a new estate in the middle of Bacchus Marsh , the Avenue which has been approved by Council.

One side is the Werribee River and while there is a levee bank, it has flooded across this land in the last 20 years. Some of these blocks are 325 sq metres !!

My view as a Councillor was always to reject this type of crap development; but it fits in with the State rules and Melbourne Water give it a big tick in terms of flooding. So while I would reject it, the Developer would go to VCAT and win. I would look like a dill and cost the Ratepayers about $100,000 in Lawyer costs. So another way, is to negotiate with the developer to pass the estate, but get more from them in terms of open space or developer contributions to infrastructure. Some see it as a sellout and others see it as a win/win. Always made me sick in the guts.

I sat down with Matthew Guy (and others) when he was Planning Minister, to discuss development in our Town. I thought he was on board as he said all the right things, but first time a shoddy development was rejected by us, he approved it using his Ministers authority. Justin Madden did the same earlier and so has the Richard Wynne the current Minister.

While local government are not completely innocent, it is the State Government who should get all the scorn. I seriously believe if Local Government had all the power (and there was IBAC watching the process) that the Community would get better outcomes.

PLEEEEEAAAAASEEE!

Speaking to a Chinese friend yesterday who hates the CCP, and here believes that the ALP are communists who encourage social welfare bludgers, whereas the LNP encourage prosperity and are wonderful economic managers. Also a Trump lover.
I know another Chinese Aussie (immigrant) with exactly the same attitude and views.

IMO this is the real Chinese threat to Australia!!! No need to look to Beijing!

SMH referred to the PM giving Warne a State Funeral, with Vic assistance.
Not that the PM went that far, emphasised Warne was an Australian and he expected to be involved with the Vic Govt in a State Funeral.

An ethnic Chinese voter in Chisholm or thereabouts said in an interview she could not vote ALP at Federal level because of Dan and his Belt and Road deal with China. Was not asked what she thought about the Port of Darwin sale approved by the LNP Govt.

PM khaki electioneering with his Lowy speech.
When a measure of good government is the level of Defence expenditure as a percentage in the Budget, when the US gives us access to nuclear sub technology …
A future sub base on east coast, additional to other bases ( punting is Port Kembla) , access to other countries.

A Eastern sub base is needed and from my understanding the ADF has always had Port Kembla as it’s favoured location but has been some recent talk that the Feds and/or NSW state governments favoured Newcastle.
