windfarmer complainers are up there with skyrail mouth breathers, ■■■■ off nimbys, better things aren’t possible.
i know of a case where landowner gets $10,000 per year compensation due to noise etc.
but doesn’t live near where it’s placed, the neighbours is closest to it and gets none.
plus the applications to get them had to have contacts in high places (govt) to be successful.
Greens candidate gets donations from windfarm company. Blow me down. That’s so much worse than, I don’t know, gambling lobby or resources conglomerate. What a cad!
imagine if the govt actually invested in renewable energy sources instead of having our best solar minds ■■■■ off to germany/usa
Well barnz, can you let me know how many nights you tried to sleep within 1 km of a wind turbine ?
Like you , I was totally ignorant and dismissive of total residents who would come to Council meetings to lodge their complaints about their lives being affected. So I took up the challenge and spent 5 nights sleeping in one of the residents houses. Some nights were ok, others were unbearable with a low frequency hum that went through my head all night stopping me sleeping. I took up the issue with Professor Simon Chapman who was a leading academic on the issue and he labelled me as a liar.
Double glazing and wall insulation helps but it is not totally effective.
Grew up under a flight path, you get used to it cry me a river.
Yeah, yeah, I know, as LNP get it from mining, Labor gets it from Unions etc. still does not make it correct to accept it.
These Large Multinational Corporations just care about profit not climate change
The reverse of which is exactly what the Greens say about Labor !
How can I vote for a party which has abandoned its own historic principles, and which, in this media-driven age, retains a (possibly senile) jelly baby as its leader, who may be a nice person, but who can’t think on his feet, and is prepared to abandon every point of party policy one after the other to keep Murfuck sweet. Albo couldn’t lead a labrador to its lunch bowl. Yet no one will challenge him…
How can you stick with this empty shell of a Labor Party which is so incompetent in its presentation, so colourless, with no firm ideas or noticeable qualities of any type, so wishy washy overall, and so ready to compromise all its principles in order to get ministerial snouts up to the trough ?
What’s this latest crap about Albo dithering?
Only caught the last bit on C10 without volume and he looked visibly flustered about something.
Just another gotcha from the press and nothing to worry about?
Maybe it is related to them bailing him up outside the church when he and Scomo both said to leave it alone for the day? Media love a gotcha when it comes to Albo. Meanwhile Scomo just told the media to get stuffed and walked off and they say nothing.
I think you’ll find God shielded his chosen PM and left Albo to the lions. God or Mammon, same thing.
Ah, wasn’t aware of that. He looked visibly flustered which is understandable
Some program which he said had been fully costed by the Parliamentary Budget Office, when Gallagher ( Shadow Finance )had posted that it had just been costed.
Albanese explained that it had been fully costed based on the methodology of the Plt Budgetary office.
Then Birmingham said he had been caught out in a lie.
Double standards there Birmo, and on Good Friday .
Hear hear
Stop being a dinosaur perce.
Gone are the days of worker vs boss, because the workers are all wannabee capitalists and the boss has won. We are owned by them.
We may lament a perceived lack of “ socialist principles” , but it doesn’t get you elected in this conservative Nation that prefers a lying douchebag, over a thoroughly decent bloke.
I have all but given up and will lie in my bed for the next 6 weeks feeling sorry for myself. Good luck with voting Greens, given the the opportunity and they will screw you over as well.
Bacchus, genuine question: what deals with the liberals?
I know that you know Labor votes with LNP more often than the greens do, but I’m curious if there’s any meat to the “tree tories” view of the Greens.
The deals to stop Labor in office passing bills in Rudd/Gillard era are well documented.
On a local level we once worked closely and collaboratively with Greens in election campaigns, and shared their aims on climate change and local environmental issues. Once they got a sniff of electoral success and found that more votes meant more money, they would renege on local agreements.
We sat down with local Greens and other Environmental groups to frame our wind farm policy, reached universal agreements, until Acciona came along with a bag of money. They then changed their position without any discussion and attacked us personally.
Politics does not have to be dirty.
maybe it should, we’re sick of your lot being lib lite
I found this line in the article rather amusing as a statement:
“It is unclear why the United Australia Party would be clearing an independent website registered by a One Nation candidate.”
