Albo’s a Catholic, so it’s no surprise he goes to a Catholic Mass on Good Friday.

Byt what about Ma Morrison and her daughters ? What are they doing there ? I thought they were Pentacostalists ?

That has always been and still is nonsense

Yeah that was strange.

He said they would be going to their local Pentecostal on Sunday.
No explanation why Abbott and Albanese chose a Maronite service.

More Morrison lies.

As for Abbott & Albo - they’re both Roman Catholics so they had a reason to go to an RC Good Friday Mass. Don’t forget that the Maronite Church is part of the Roman Catholic Church !

Eddie Obeid is one of them; so is Steve Bracks, iirc .

Why not Ukraine Catholic, why Maronite?

Looking for the Lebanese vote

@bigallan Maronites are Lebanese, not Ukrainian. They’re named after Saint Maron who converted the Lebanese pagans way back when Adam was a little boy. The Maronite Church is an Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with the worldwide Roman Catholic Church.

These days the Maronites are about 22 or 23 % of the Lebanese population.

A lot more info can be gained by using the Bandit method.

My immediate boss is Maronite Lebanese. She loves all the RCC youtube teachers, tries to get me watching them.

Most really get into the God stuff.

This was an eye-opening read last year. It appears to be where the LNP are heading, if they’re not there already.

A lot of that comes from a teaching that holds sway within the Pentecostal and RCC churches (RCC have always had it as we all know) called Dominion Theology (Kingdom Now Theology for a lot of Penties). It’s heavily promoted by the NAR groups (New Apostolic Reformation) and some Calvinist groups and comes out of the 70’s when Christian nationalism (from the US) really took off.

Sadly, there seems little choice in this election (or any other recently) - I’ve never voted Liberal in my life (and, unlike Brendan Nelson, I actually mean it) - but Albo does not fill me with confidence. It really should be an open and shut case: get rid of Morrison. He is both corrupt and incompetent. However, increasingly it seems that the ALP is not doing itself any favours. If on 22 May, we wake to Morrison still as PM I, and a lot of others on here and elsewhere, will be bitterly disappointed and in despair.
Come on ALP, lift your game!

So Albo forgot some stuff, big deal.

He is a thoroughly honest and decent guy, and there is not one Labor policy that is not better than any LNP offer. And we get rid of the most corrupt, incompetent government in my history.

Did I say it was? What with all the shows of solidarity to Ukraine, there was the option of attending a Ukraine Catholic Service, if Abbot and Albanese wanted to attend a Catholic service.

one of my favourite byproducts of online conspiracy theories is tracing back the roots to find almost all of the big ones they are somewhat grounded in reality. i’ve seen one getting about from the 5g vaccine crew about “implementating a cashless society” which has very obviously grown out of that very real thing which has happened very recently.

seriously, people need to be [redacted] or at least jailed for life over that thing. state-sanctioned financial abuse. do that to a spouse or relative and you’re doing time.
