Not the first time either, this is from right before the last election, thing is, they then over the next few years spun this as good news, while NDIS, aged care and people on welfare are dying.

I don’t think the universe has ever or will ever see, people as suicidally stupid as LNP voters.

This coalition govt, is downright ■■■■■■■ evil, it has been a new low month after month, and there’s the stuff we don’t know about, the stuff hidden in “cabinet”

Bushfire victims are still waiting for help, people are returning to mouldy houses in NSW, the great barrier reef is on it’s knees, aged care is a crime against humanity

It’s couldn’t be further from the truth, they are there to give themselves more power at the expense of all Australians and Scomo is the most corrupt and dishonest ■■■■ this country will ever see.

The only glimmer of hope, is the record amount of new voters we’re seeing signing up for this election, that says to me that people are angry enough to care, and if they’re angry enough to take action, it’s not to keep the current mob in, it’s to turf them out.

We need an ICAC first and foremost, and if we have any shred of integrity, those responsbile for robodebt, and hundreds of other crimes against this country, should be in jail, starting with Scomo, followed by Angus Taylor and Fraudenberg. We don’t need Labor to just win, we need this country to make a statement about how the LNP have mistreated those with the least power to stand up for themselves, those exploited by this disorganised crime syndicate, it shouldn’t be just about getting Labor in and they may be a shambles and we go back to libs next election, but this election… the LNP needs to be sent a message that this dishonet clown show is not what Australians represent or want us to be seen as on the global stage.

Rapes, cover ups, pork barrelling, neglect. These are counter to the values we all grew up with that used to be tied to the idea of Australia of mateship, looking out for each other and those less fortunate, cherishing the incredible continent and the beautiful ecosystems we have here that so many people who weren’t born here come over and say “wow, this is a beautiful land”. This is the most important time in Australian history for people who believe in what Australia really is to stand up and speak for it. We need to crush the LNP this election, what ever way suits you, greens or independents or labor, send a message that what has happened these last few years ins so incredibly unacceptable.

AEC noted that the bulk of voter registrations by the registration cut off date were mostly people updating changes in address, necessary for being included on a specific electoral roll. The standard check of right to vote in an electorate is Q about current address and check whether it matches enrolment register.
The actual new voter registrations was lower ( numbers up on AEC site)

Here’s an honest question. I live in McNamara, we have eight candidates and want to know people’s opinion on who I should vote for. Should I stick with my usual tactic of putting Liberal last, or put one of UAP or PHON at number eight?

Scott Morrison has slammed Labor for what he called “sewer” politics over an advertising blitz claiming Liberal MP Gladys Liu had spread fake news and tried to “trick” voters at the last election.

The Age reported on Sunday that Labor would use Facebook , Google , YouTube and Instagram ads to ask voters “what do we know about Liberal Gladys Liu?”

“She spread fake news on Chinese messaging apps, she and the Liberal Party had to give back $300,000 because the donors were deemed a national security risk, and her campaign tried to trick voters with election day signage in the colours of the Australian Electoral Commission ,” the Labor ad says.

Liu holds the Victorian seat of Chisholm on a razor-thin margin of 0.5%, winning by less than 1100 votes in 2019. Labor sees Chisholm as a major prospect in its hunt.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg , under pressure in his own seat of Kooyong , called the campaign “a desperate, dishonest, racist attack ad”.

“Again, the Labor Party here is being dishonest, deceitful and engaging in scare tactics and in a racist attack ad on the first Chinese-born person to sit in the House of Representatives in Gladys Liu,” he said on Sunday.

Morrison, speaking in Alice Springs , was scathing of Labor’s ad.

“They go after Gladys Liu because she’s Chinese,” he said.

“They’re engaged in what I think is a sewer tactic here.”

Penny Wong was asked at Darwin presser whether the anti Gladys stuff was demonising ethnic Chinese in Oz.

  • she affected to look dumbfounded and asked whether they were seeking HER views.
    • went on to say that it was in order to question Gladys’ connections to Chinese associated with CCCP in Beijing.

Morrison did not take any other Fed Ministers with him to Darwin and Alice Springs . Wong took Mark Butler acting Shadow Minister, talking about policies for closing the gap on indigenous health.
CLP Senate candidate pumping up her indigenous connections, doesn’t want outsiders , indigenous or otherwise telling Alice indigenous what to do ( does not mention NT intervention or Indue card). She bangs on about her support for the Warringah candidate, based on herself as a woman who used to play footy. Cuts the convo when journos ask about the transphobe and anti gay comments going beyond sport.

To dispel some misinformation currently being promoted by Party Politicians and their spin doctors and lying ex Ministers, listed here are some historical facts every Australian, especially the young who are under the miss-guided belief and/or assumption that they are funding the Aged Pension from their current hard work; They Are Not, they’re funding their own Pension Fund; a fund that governments have no intention of paying and to add insult to injury, legislate to force you to pay into a Super Fund to boot. 1939-1945 WORLD WAR II 1942-1943 As a Wartime measure, the Federal Government gained sole control over Australian Income Tax. Labor Prime Minister ( Ben Chifley )
introduced three bills to establish the National Welfare Fund, to be financed by a Compulsory Contribution (levy) of one and sixpence in the Pound (20/- ) on all personal income. 1946 Opposition Leader ( Robert Menzies ) stated that the Compulsory Contribution (levy) should be kept completely separate. That it should be shown separately on the Taxation Assessment and paid straight into a “TRUST” account and not mixed with the General Revenue. Menzies said “The stigma of charity should be removed from the Age Pension.” ''It should be an entitlement earned ny the person’s personal contribution to the fund." Prime Minister Chifley agreed and established The National Welfare fund as at 1/1/1946. A “Trust” Fund with the Parliament as “Trustee.” The Compulsory Contributions (levy) commenced as at 1st January 1946. It was shown separately on the personal Tax Assessments for 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1950 and the compulsory levy was properly paid straight into the Special “Trust” fund and Welfare claims were paid out of the fund. The balance in the fund in 1950 was almost 100 Million Pounds. 1949 Robert Menzies became Prime Minister and he introduced Bills to amend the acts governing the National Welfare Funds. The Compulsory Contributions (levy) was then grouped with the Taxation Assessment and appeared as one amount on the Taxation Assessments and was paid as one straight into the Consolidated Revenue Account. 1951-1985 The Compulsory levy of 7.5% now included in the tax continued to be collected and placed in the Consolidated Revenue Account treated as General Revenue and spent, until 1985. 1974-1975 Labor Prime Minister ( Gough Whitlam ) abolished income test for all persons 70 years of age and over and paid pensions to all people over that age. 1975 Liberal Prime Minister ( Malcolm Fraser ) cancelled the Withlam achievement of abolishing the test for all 70 years of age and over. 1977 Liberal Prime Minister ( Malcolm Fraser ) with Treasurer Philip Lynch ) transferred the balance in the Welfare Fund Account ( approximately $ 470.000.000 ) to Consolidated Revenue Account. 1985 Australian Labor Government repealed acts No. 39, 40, and 41 of 1945 ( The National Welfare Fund Acts ). Thus the funds finally ceased to exist yet the 7.5% levy continued to be collected as a proportion of the Income Tax revenue. It also introduced the (much maligned) Income and Asset Tests, thereby excluding millions of levy and tax paying Australians from receiving Social Services Pensions. This money these self funded contributions paid as a percentage of the total income tax collections are today worth far more than the amount of means tested pensions paid out. Actuaries have calculated the non-means tested entitlement due to each retiree, today is in excess of $ 500 per week. This surely debunks the politicians claim that the generation are paying a proportion of their current taxes to cover the payments made to pensioners. The obvious short fall has been swallowed by the government’s Taxation Black Hole. The historical summary above highlights the fact that politicians of opposing political parties each contributed to the agenda to destroy the entitlement as it was intended why ? When it clearly would not have been the will of the people. While Party Politicians are controlled by a few people who are hidden from public view yet are open to Manipulation and Outright Corruption , there can be no certainty of the payment of pensions. Only a majority of truly Independent representatives can bring about a change from Government under corporate control, to Government for the People, of the People, by the People. Just because a cabal of political miscreants become so GREEDY and they change the way a tax looks in the Ledgers, IN NO WAY REMOVES THE FACT THAT THIS TAX IS TILL COLLECTED AND IS SO COLLECTED STILL TO THIS DAY TO PROVIDE FOR THE SUPPLY AND CONTINUATION OF THE OLD AGE PENSION. A STIPEND TO THE ELDERLY CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY WHO HAVE WORKED FOR DECADES OF THEIR LIVES TO BUILD A NATION AND HAVE FROM WORKING DAY ONE OF THEIR LIVES, BEEN PAYING 7% PLUS OF THEIR TAXES DIRECTLY TOWARDS THIS PENSION. The old age pension is not a privilege; Is not a right; Is not a gift; Is not even welfare; The Old Age Pension is an asset; Owned and accrued by each Australian Citizen who has funded this asset from their very own purse. The governments of the day were employed to amass, secure, invest and manage a fund that in its first 5 years bulged to almost 100.000.000 Pounds ( am amount in that day that equated in that day in this day’s dollars and cents, to approximately AU $240 million give or take a million or two ). They did amass, secure, invest and manage and the figures were colossal and frightening to them and hence they conspired to hide them back into the Consolidated Revenue Bucket and to this day, the bucket has been brimming with a 7.5% tax collected specifically and only, for the Old Age Pension. No young Australians ! You are not paying for the welfare of Baby boomers, you are paying for yourselves, new immigrants, the needy in society requiring social services and welfare, dole recipients and the bludgers, BUT YOU ARE NOT PAYING FOR THE OLD PENSION OF ELDERLY AUSTRALIANS WHO HAVE WORKED ALL THEIR LIVES IN THIS COUNTRY AND PAID THEIR DUE FAIR SHARE OF TAXES

That’s an interesting history lesson, but these days, not really a smart argument. If i live on the dole my entire adult life, I’m still eligible for the pension once i get to pension age even if I’ve paid fk-all tax (and before the GST, this was a lot easier). And nobody ever ‘runs out’ of pension because they’ve reached the end of what they paid into their personal Pension Fund in their working life. The consolidated funds cover the shortfall.

I hate the ‘you pay for YOUR pension with YOUR taxes’ line. It encourages meanness. It white-ants the very concept of living in a charitable society where everyone chips in to help out the unfortunate. And (more politically) it’s a real convenient line to help convince pension-recipient oldies to feel superior to dole recipients and therefore vote for ■■■■■■ who’ll slash welfare, even though they are frigging well on welfare themselves. It’s THOSE dolebludgers taking YOUR money, and because THOSE dolebludgers are taking YOUR money, YOU get less pension, and anyway when the government gives THOSE people dole money out of consolidated revenue they’re bludging, but when they give ME pension money out of consolidated revenue, it’s because it’s mine by rights anyway. A wedge to split old welfare recipients from younger welfare recipients.

Take it one step further.

The taxes pensioners paid have already been spent, decades ago. So the ‘I’ve paid my taxes and I’ve earns my pension’…doesn’t cut it.

The pension and welfare that is paid to them, is paid from the taxes that WE are paying TODAY. So, best vote for governments that will look after the younger folk and kee them employed.

(I think in Canada, a % of your taxes do go towards unemployment benefit, so when you do find yourself between jobs, you have actually ‘earned’ it)
