Australian Politics -- from 2022 Federal Election

So why do they do it? The ‘logging vote’ would have to be fark all wouldn’t it?

Will have her work cut out, however is a skilled operator.

And, she has to make decisions within the mandate of relevant legislation, in a litigious area.

The specifically logging vote is ■■■■ all. But the logging area vote includes a number of marginal seats, and the CFMEU represents loggers and has a fair bit of pull in ALP circles. And as is always the case, the people who are going to be annoyed by this policy to the point of not voting ALP are probably people who vote green anyway, so Andrews doesn’t give a ■■■■ about what they think.

It’s well hidden. Try:

Such a farrago of lies and half-truths. Try this one for size:

Hardwood from native forest harvesting is used for high-end furniture, joinery and flooring, the manufacture of pallets and lower grade logs are used for pulp and paper production.

“Lower grade logs”, eh ?

Back when tree investments were a thing before the whole thing came crashing down, hardwood was 25 year from sapling to harvest, softwood was 7 years. The hardwood could also be stripped every 6 years (so branches were cut right back) for woodchips as well.

Another Costello legacy of screwing over future generations. Can’t recall how much the scheme cost for absolutely nothing to show for it. Carbon sink fund or something.

More proof that right wing politics isn’t about actually shaping the world but more about defining yourself against the “other” and accusing them of communism or some ■■■■.

It’s not graft and corruption, until you get caught. And even then it’s someone else’s fault.

Looks like someone told the wrong m8 to eat his balls.

Don’t think this should come as particularly surprising. The conservative commentariat have shown particular skill in adopting terminology and then over-using them to the point of meaninglessness.

“Political correctness” is another that’s gone the way of being no more than cheap abuse. “Virtue signal” and “Identity politics” are well on the way.

The much favoured “left/leftist” is purely a lazy slur now. Whatever meaning it once (genuinely) had has been lost forever.

Dutton calls them dirty leftists for emphasis.
Now we have the Keating Bandt brawl whether Paul is a neo liberal,

More info on the super claim on the free accommodation some diplomats got:

A small group of former diplomats is in court claiming they should’ve been paid superannuation on the free accommodation they received while posted overseas. If they win, they could pocket as much as $11 million each! That could set a precedent that could end up costing the taxpayers up to $8 billion.
