Australian Politics -- from 2022 Federal Election

It’s not to my taste either.

I thought Marles performed very well today on some tough issues.
If I had been Marles, I would have asked the journos the source of their assertions that he had doctored his China speech. The MSM media would have gone to print on it if there had been the slightest evidence.
Meanwhile, PM refuses to talk to media, who waste their time watching him do a photo op; Birmingham re-announced some regional camping grants, shoots through; Treasurer provides a vid of himself quoting a stat on the amount of aid to the Solomon Islands - no show by Foreign Minister to be questioned on US commentary that the US should not have outsourced its foreign policy on the Solomon Islands.

Don’t watch ch9 then. Just caught a bit of his coal talk, camera went between the Ch9 reporter and Marles with the reporter getting in a “with respect you haven’t answered the question”, Marles “We’ve given you the answers we’ve given” then pulling a very dodgy face. Bizarre and looked like the reporter shots had been staged after the event. This is MSM in action 22

I wasn’t questioning his performance on the China issue as that was quite good.
I thought the carbon credits question was the bit that was handled quite poorly but as I said it not a hanging offence as it may not be a simple yes/no question.

I watched the full presser live.

Nowhere have I said otherwise.
I didn’t like his coal comments and thought it was poor

Did you watch the whole presser or the selectively edited version?

Whole thing.
I don’t like either of the main parties stance on coal though. Neither party seems to want to get tough with the coal industry

As I understand it, anyone doing election advertising (audio, print or TV) has to include advice of the person authorising it and for which party.
Liberal Party of Australia has a special Youtube for the election, requesting donations. Does not state who authorises it. I was reading some international media online, when extracts from the YouTube ( dumping on Albanese) flashed on the screen.
That goes beyond social media. Is it a breach of electoral law?

There are few enforceable rules for the LNP. Rape someone and you win $1million. Allegedly.

They figure people are too stupid to care about the blatant corruption that is going on.

Well that is because one side is getting bribed off (hint: it is the side that brought a fkg lump of coal to Parliament) while the other side will get flogged mercilessly 24/7 by MSM especially in QLD and NSW seats if they dare to suggest that coal is not the greatest gift ever.

Unfortunately they are correct about that for the majority of the population.

Plato identified this problem with democracy about 2400 years ago.

Nearly as good as Frydenbergs “if Liberals lose it will be Labors fault”.

That’s what we need - the form of a chair so we can sit and watch the shadows in the cave…
