Australian Politics -- from 2022 Federal Election

Most of the populace does that already.

And, sadly, they don’t believe those who know that is not how the world works,

AEC have stated that a blanket authorisation in the bio of any social media/streaming account is sufficient. Don’t know if the YouTube channel in question has done this.

PM not taking questions…Hmmmmm…I get the feeling something even bigger, possibly on this same subject, is about to happen.

I wish Australia was smart enough to make her prime minister.

Not really a surprise there. Marise Payne is just about the Invisible Woman when it comes to almost anything.

I wish Penny wanted it and the Labor Party were smart enough to make her the Leader.

I think she’s smart enough to know we’re not smart enough.

Yep

NSW Senate paper down from 36 column to 24. VIC 32 to 27.

Those two states peaked in 2013 at 45 and 40.

According to Dutton we are going to be killed by chemical attacks from the Chinese in the next four years. Things are as dire as they were in the 1930’s.

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!

Who can save us?

So irresponsible, chemical weapons, wtf!

Well, it won’t be Dutton! With any luck he’ll be out of government by then.

Yep, he will be gone but hopefully Labor increase our military spend further

He’s saying that OMG THE CHINESE ARE COMING TO GET US and then with the next breath saying that we have to be ready to send troops to the middle east.

I mean, wtf? Why would we do that if we’re going to be fighting an existential struggle for national survival at home?

why wouldn’t australia have had ambassadors in Solomon Islands etc.?

Chinese are so much smarter than us!!!

We have the equivalent of Ambassador - in Commonwealth countries they are called High Commissioners. The current High Commissioner in Honiara isn’t a lightweight.
Australia has offices in all the South Pacific.
US closed its Embassy in Honiara 30 years ago, left it to Australia and NZ to look after its interests.
Problem for the US is that post Vietnam it dropped its bundle on SE Asia and South Pacific Islands in terms of soft as well as strategic diplomacy and is on a catch up. It protected its interests in Micronesia and the Marshall Islands by free association agreements involving US running their foreign and defence policies.
China filled the vacuum .
BTW, years back, Solomon Islands post independence found it offensive to be referred to as the Solomons ( the colonial term)

The US realised a while back that closing their embassy was a mistake but this might be the wake up call for them to get off their backsides and head back there

I’ll settle for them increasing efficiency on military spend.

At the moment they’d just be pouring more money down an inept drain.
