Australian Politics -- hold my slabs

His fall happened at Lindsay Fox’s home not at a “holiday rental”

Someone ran them on Blitz, IIRC, it was really him driving, there was a truck that witnessed it all, she/he was really at fault, the cops deliberately refrained from breathalyser testing.
Now, Peta Credlin , the wannabe pollie, and others are doing a pile on about criminal activities associated with Andrews government, juxtaposed next to to his “accident”

that was actually correct, two cops got disciplined over it

Were they found to have ‘deliberately refrained’, or neglected to follow protocol?

yes, they failed to follow police protocol and hence were disciplined

deliberately refrained and neglected to follow protocol are 2 different things.

Well I can probably believe that the Cops didn’t do the breath test, but would never believe that Dan was driving drunk. Too big a story to hide with our scummy Media, and I know this bloke and he is smart enough to own up to this if there were witnesses.

Police rejected the FOI request at the time … so we’ll never know the full story if the cops deliberately or not chose not to breath test because of who the driver was

Over the years Police have looked the way when Pollies have been in accidents.

The biggest two I remember were in local government; the Mayor of City of Broadmeadows (who later became a State MP) was severely p!ssed one night and hit the milkman killing his horse !! No charges on that one.

And the one I saw with my own little eyes, was the Mayor of City of Essendon (who previously had been a State MP) was totally smashed after a Council meeting where both of us and a few others demolished the Mayors Scotch collection. He hopped in the Mayoral car which I seem to recall was a Jaguar and instead of backing out of the parking spot accelerated forward into a large concrete post. He then reversed back at an angle destroying a parked police car. Police came out of Moonee Ponds Police Station, helped him out of the car, and drove him home. No charges on that and I think the police paid for the repair of the Mayors car !!

No Twitter back then !!

One MSM report referred to it as a rental, others to accomodation.
Commonwealth Ministers have to list freebies. Is there a comparable system for Victoria? No doubt Qs can be asked in Parliament. Also, Ambos and hospital staff have been known to leak information.

probably because they’re paid barely anything.

How old are you?

I’m like that driving out of the super market car park.

There was also the case when Bolte pranged his car and was taken to hospital.

His blood samples conveniently went missing. Because it was the early '80s, they thought a dingo must have taken them.

The Bolte Story is one my father told me. From my understanding not many more corrupt than him, and old “300 Schools” Kennett named a ■■■■■■ bridge after him.

I started drinking and politicking very early.

I am in favour of eliminating old people at 70, so I only have a year or two left.

By the way, both the Pollies I mentioned were fanatic Bomber fans and being at Windy Hill with either of them in the Social Club was always eventful.

Milkman had horses in the northern and western suburbs not that long ago, as late as 1986.

How would we do it? Do you get to chose?

No, you just have a farewell party on their 70th birthday and cremate them; no exceptions. Distribute their wealth as per their Will; with appropriate Death Taxes. Probably not a winning election policy.

It would just become an accepted traditional after a few generations. The eskimos did it for years when old people could no longer chew their food; left out in the snow for the bears and wolves. Probalby happened in many other societies as well.

I like it

Being that 70 is the new 60 or whatever, and the fact that there seems little doubt that in 2 years time you’ll still be a very active and contributing member of society and providing Jobs, innovation and contributing more than most to the Public purse via the myriad of Tax incomes associated with your Company and employees, … I really believe you’ll re think this idea once you hit the big Seven O.

By the time I reach 70, it will likely be the retirement age, so you know, … fk that!.
