Whatā€™s with this scuttlebutt about Liberal leadership challenge

The Liberals already act as if they are two parties.

The fear of not doing enough to lock coal into the energy mix. If anchallenge happened and Dutton got defeated it would result in Turnbullā€™s tyres getting pumped big time. May not be enough to repair the damage done by a challenge in the electorate to begin with. Thereā€™s still the issue of pisspoor policy. If Dutton won itā€™d be both scary and potentially hilarious if he lost his own seat at the election. I seriously doubt that guy could win them an election. Said the same about Abbott though but he got elected when Labor was a shambles. Murdoch would be trying everything for Dutton too.

The only thing keeping the LNP afloat is the tenuous popularity of turnbull. No body is gonna like Dutton or any other Abbott puppet.

The only thing keeping the LNP afloat is the total lack of holding them to account by the MSM.

Question is, heā€™s already on a knife edge in his own electorate. Would this seal his re-election and win enough One Nation and hillbilly voters over in Qld to compensate for the seats theyā€™d lose here as a direct consequence as well as other seats they were already going to lose. Then thereā€™s the fact that a big chunk of his own donā€™t seem to like him as an option. Instability. Can they hide that behind xenophobia? What is the electorate going to fix on more?

Italy has a more stable government than we do. Italy.

Not exactly true, but I like the thought.

Are the Liberals seriously thinking of switching Turnbull with Dutton? If they think they will lose with Turnbull, imagine what will actually happen if Dutton is the PM leading into an election.
