Agree with this, one on one they’ve been good and fairly physical but so many utterly bizarre failures to clear and panicky kicking into each other and opponents in the square and with time. France weren’t sharp enough to capitalise which was just lucky on the night.
I’d like to see Cooney-Cross used more as a play maker.
She is absolute class, and is able to play her way out of trouble in tight spots, with sublime passing. The defenders should be going through her.
I feel like we need to play to score rather than not concede. England will bombard us
And Nino will have more mood swings than toddler.
There will be NO POSITIVES if we lose tonight.
I think if Australia score first, they will rinse England.
I think it ends up 3-1 to Australia. Hopefully the girls can make it to the final and then win the whole damn thing
Does Kerr start?
I’m prepared for anything tonight, whether it’s a 3-0 loss……. Or an extra time winner.
Just happy they made it this far.
Form goes out the window in these later stage matches, and it’s about who can hold their nerve the best.
I’d keep using Kerr as a sub.
Don’t change a winning formula, until we need to.
I’m not convinced she’s 100% fit either
Agree
The lift the whole stadium and her team mates get when she warms up cannot be understated
Feels like TG makes this as a tactical sub as there is
I heard today that the 3v4 playoff rights are held by Optus and that they are refusing to give them to FTA even if the Matilda’s are in it
That’s ■■■■■■.
I think the anti-siphoning laws prevent that. All Australian games in FIFA world cups need to be broadcast on FTA.
I thought the same. This bloke from the federation so I thought he would know but I’m thinking he got it wrong
Doing some further reading, only the men’s world cup is covered by anti-siphoning laws. So maybe that is legit.
Poor Kennedy, what a match to be ill for.
KERR STARTING
Kerr is starting means the winger need to be getting that ball into the box as much as possible.
kerr’s game is built on poaching goals. She’s an opportunist. Any deflections off defenders or keepers, she’ll have them in the back of the net.
The one area of her game that she struggles is closing down defenders, so we won’t get that…… which was what Van Egmond was doing really well.
