Ben Cousins Goes Ape (again)

True, but these days it’s a lot harder to be institutionalised.

Seems that B Cousins has done an interview in recent days which will be broadcast in the coming weeks. First formal interview since 2012.

The best bit is that he’s been interviewed by Basil Zempilas. I think the last time I saw him do something outside a sports report was his awesome hosting of the leader’s debate with Bill and ScoMo. Stepped on every reply. Will likely ask Ben if he will vote for him in the forthcoming Perth Mayor election.

My wife has mentioned being in the presence of Basil while he jammed piles of white powder up his enormous schnoz. There is absolutely zero surprise that he’s the one interviewing cousins.

B Cousins is an interesting character and I would like to hear him interviewed after what has happened between 2012 and now but it’s very disappointing that the responsibility was given to B Zempilas. C7 may be positioning him to take over from B McAvaney one day but he’s a genuine lightweight who is bereft of substance. If Cousins hand picked Zempilas for the task then it suggests he’s not serious about opening up.

ben or basil?

Surely he’s doing it for the cash.

Without a doubt.

Is Basil a big name over in WA? seems a very weird choice

He’s a bigger name than he should be. It says a lot about us really. But not all of us have been fooled. UWA do an annual fund raiser with the highlight being it’s highly sought after satirical newspaper PROSH. About 25 years ago, they honoured an up and coming Zempilas with the title of Perth’s biggest media ■■■■ long before he was widely know. And he he won the title among some genuinely deserving competition. He went on a pretty big sulk at the time but that only confirmed what the students already knew.

Zempilas is an automaton, I have no doubt about it.

So they’re paying for his habit cause he needs cash? Awesome.

Fair enough.
I certainly contributed cash to the habits of Keith Richard, David Bowie, and many, many others.

Which in turn created wonderful artistry.

Ben Cousins on the other hand…

The fact that Zempilas is on TV at all, let along one of the major media figures in AFL coverage (in WA at least) is really one of the strongest arguments you can aim at anyone who believes we live in a meritocracy.

Keith Richards always said that he didn’t have a problem with drugs.

He did, however, have problems with the Police.

How much are they paying him for the interview.

An ounce and half
