Ben Rutten - Back to the grindstone (Part 2)

I need to see his interview

No press release yet?

Haven’t seen yet

Into his 4th year of been in charge of our teams defending, and it’s the worst it’s ever been.

There is nowhere to hide for him, he is surrounded by highly thought of assistants. No excuses for him.

Absolutely zero change Clarkson would come to us after coaching hawthorn for so long. He won’t want to ruin his legacy by coming to us, even if his personality type is EXACTLY what we are in need of.

The board won’t have the stones to sack a Rutten either. We will continue down this path until late next season, then when we suck again- they’ll sack him.So we have pretty much got at least another 12-14 months of this.

The club hierarchy would rather watch the club burn than admit they made yet another massive mistake and in turn have their jobs in peril.

Last thing we need. The guy is poison…and not the good Brett Michaels every rose has its thorn kind……the ■■■■ kind

He needs to be sacked but the club won’t. Should have been gone after Round 1… but now we have waited and seen another 7 rounds of poop.

You get to have a ‘free’ look at a caracella for the 2nd half of the season AND conduct a full and proper process to find the next coach. Makes a lot of sense but sadly the club won’t do it.

Rutten will be remembered as being worse than Knights… at least Knights had a plan and SOME parts of his game plan working… we aren’t doing a SINGLE thing well, let alone competently, right now. It is really a very ugly state of affairs.

If he resigns or gets sacked I would genuinely be upset for him. I think he thought he could instil a better brand and culture. I think a first time up coach is up against it with a garbage list and poir administration.

Just watched his press conference. For once, he isn’t trying to put a positive spin on this. Called out the senior players for lack of effort. Its a start I guess.

I thought it was weak. Yes he called out players… a bit…

But I would have actually loved him to be honest… yep we got smashed and again we gave up a huge score despite the fact that our defenders worked really hard and won many contests. So there is a chance my game plan is kaka and I’ll look at that during the week. It is clear that I need to put the team in a better position to achieve success and that will be more focus.

Why

Ross would weed out all the pea hearts who can’t defend. He won’t stand for lazy efforts like we saw tonight

The sooner they fire this guy the sooner I can find out our next scapegoat. I don’t like the uncertainty.

if the club weren’t run by cowards and did a rebuild under woosha properly but alas malignant administrators win again

I just don’t think he has it in him to coach us to a premiership. Look at Longmuir.

He has Fremantle playing exactly how he wants them. Rotten doesn’t seem to have any control.

I don’t think the players respect him. Or fear him.

This the big one for me

gia is in charge of defence

not that he’s responsible for the complete across-the-ground lack of defensive pressure and workrate

He might even make a good coach again away from Collingwood
