Of their twenty odd draft prospects of interest, Tassie has met with about half. That’s from two of the boys that I know. From what I gather it’s more for that pre-selection for Tassie.

Why should F/S be off limits? He doesn’t have to nominate as a father son for the draft if he doesn’t want to and can enter as any other open prospect. Likewise we don’t have to nominate him if we don’t want to. So right now he’s like any other underaged player that the Devils are entitled to ask the question of him. He would be foolish not to look at all his options, doesn’t mean he is seriously considering them. I’m sure Nick Daicos would take the call and at least listen to what the Devils have to say as well, doesn’t mean he will go there.

Wonder what they think of their club choosing not to match a bid for Josh Dunkley… only for him to beat them in grand finals not once but twice.
Dunkley wanted to stay in Melbourne - Swans would have selected him if a interstate side swooped. They thought his kicking skills weren’t up to scratch, didn’t for see he would turn into the gun he is.

Would be funny how many people would still support the father son rules if Bewick nominates Tassie instead.

He won’t nominate Tassie but could you imagine the blow to Brad’s tenure if he did? That the brightest hope we’ve had in years has shunned us? Would certainly prompt some introspection.

Modern day footy with the big bikkies involved and everyone wanting success straight away might mean the F/S rule is not relevant anymore but think what it meant to families in years gone by. Dad plays his career at one club and then the son follows in his footsteps with the same number jumper. Fantastic I reckon.
