I think 2016 GF final quarter was the worst from a blatent and the appearance of rigged umpiring , 2019 Anzac Day had some crazy weird umpiring moments that I think was more absolute umpiring incompetence
FMD and the umps went on radio the next day to say that every call was correct.
And then Whately lapped it up going all weekend with ‘well the umpires explained why they didn’t pay frees so that’s that’.

I was there and it was the day I got off all social media other than Blitz for good.
Had the realisation that tne umpires basically shat into the mouths of all of us Bomber supporters and once again, as per the entire SAGA, the AFL and oppo supporters gas lite the ■■■■ out of us and expected we just lay down and accept it
I’d never been closer to punching the absolute ■■■■■■■ suitcase out of Kent’s at the G that day. If anyone can watch those calls, and others through the day, and honestly say we weren’t robbed, then they are dead set farking losers.
I’ll eternally be ■■■■■■ off thinking about that game and the smugness of every ■■■■■■■ Collingwood scum bag filthy maggot that gave it to us.

Doesn’t that show how much of a problem it was? The umps never explain their actions - so this was regarded as so bad they had to come out to try and justify it
3rd quarter against Geelong last year was as bad as it got.
One of their main guys was saying how bad their form had been, and it all turned round against us.

"The league has cited three examples that demonstrate ‘shortcomings in the AFL’s current integrity monitoring framework’. The first involves the case of an AFL umpire allegedly providing advance notice of outcomes to people who place bets.
‘The AFL relied on one bookmaker to identify the betting of interest and the connection with a specific umpire, with bets of interest only flagged due to a significant loss being made on the market,’ the document said."
Ahhh, that sounds like they fixed an actual result? (I don’t gamble, but I thought you could only place small bets on everything other than the outcome)

The AFL also referred to a player allegedly providing inside information about games to someone who placed five bets with different bookmakers.
The player had been told to start his next game in a different position from his usual one. This information was not public and the betting markets did not reflect it. The gambler placed bets on him kicking the first goal of the game

Something that amused me during the practices matches was seeing umpires pay a 50m for protected zone, but the player had played on anyway, and the team tried to take advantage.
Ump didn’t allow advantage and enforced the 50m. Stopped and slowed the play to enforce the rule the rule designed to speed up play and let it flow.

Anyway, Healy isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I reckon he’s spot on here. Downgrading and neglecting for years now the age old push in the back rule (particularly by this out the back shoving the man under the ball or into a pack caper) and presto … big problems and big injuries now occurring. Who’d have thunk it?
Not the AFL honchos, or Steve McBurney or ex- EFC GM of footy now in the firing line, Josh Mahoney who says “we haven’t a problem with the push in the back”. Wot? Broken jaw, AC joint etc. already pre R0 without even looking back on last 2-3 years’ incidences.
Bring it back and ASAP I reckon. Protect the player in front making the play but penalise any feigning. Stop these cowardly shoves on a player from an oppo out of position and causing real danger.
It’s an easy decision.
