As I said: Clueless as usual.
Agree - aside from the patch in the 3rd quarter I thought we were ordinary against Carlton. It wasn’t an impressive win.
I was delayed, just watched the replay.
After the first quarter, full of pathetic, no-hearted, non-effort footy, I thought “■■■■ it I’m checking the final score.”
My sympathies to those of you who had to watch that live.
you realise how idiotic it is to reframe parts of the season just because your feelings are hurt by today
Ok who cares about Fark Carlton… we are currently Trash and that is a fact…
Games like today make the whole side look like trash.
But imho it was the midfield and forwards. No defensive pressure and absolutey spanked at clearances.
Andy McGrath is a gun and the only footballer for us that really looked anything like a winner.
McGrath is not a gun… not an A grader… just a solid footballer
A vice captain who couldn’t be stuffed applying pressure or effort today.
Along with the rest of the team, but the expectations are higher for a club leader.
‘We destroyed them that day’
Just goes to show how delusional you are.
We can’t control them missing easy shots for goal.
As I said said son…
He’s awful. Very sad that this is the player he has become
We dont need to gut the list.
Opposition clubs will poach anyone with talent and we will delist the guys who arent up to it.
We need better recruitment. That’s all. Dont worry about exits. They will happen
5 goal win is a 5 goal win champ
doesn’t mean we’re a good team, or that we’re better than them - but I can see you’re not capable of more than binary thoughts about footy
Yea better recruitment will turn our top 25 players into stars… Lol
And that’s the exact attitude why we’ve gone nowhere in 20 years.
Dig deeper than the scoreboard.
Just coz we win doesn’t mean there are not flaws.
Of that list of twenty, there are only six worth keeping.
Stand by for at least sixteen still being there next year.
I have said this many times and for many years before: it is no wonder that our players are so fkg soft. As long as they are not the two or three WORST players on the list, they will get back on the gravy train the next year, despite how ■■■■ and lacklustre they play.
And we have seen a helluva lot of ■■■■ and lacklustre performances over the years. By players that will go around next year, too.
Its time management drew “a line in the sand” and said your crap performances are not good enough. Give a chance to promising young kids who have been overlooked [like Nic Martin was). They can’t do worse
oh yes and sack the fkg de-development coaches and get in people who actually know how to teach footy skills.
We recruit better footballers.
Eventually you get enough of them
That’s basically it.
Oh well.
Thanks for the support.
We go again in 2024.
We do need to bulk up - no question and there are a number of reasons for that. Better muscle definition does improve recovery time, assist with balance and poise on the field and of course the more obvious one of not only breaking tackles - but holding them. We are one of the worst in the league for broken tackles. The other thing bulk gives you is “presence” and intimidation around the contest. Anyone who has played competitive sport knows that if you are up against a smaller team, your confidence lifts immediately, and conversely if you are up against a bigger side you shirk at contest more often. Look at the first quarter in Geelong 6 weeks ago and you’ll see it as clear as day. No side in the AFL has a midget midfield like we do, and our undersized defence is infamous in AFL circles.
