I find it very difficult to favour either of them.

Despite the claims, noway they made 10 million each. This fight could not generate 20 million + dollars.

I was surprised that Mundine was so competitive at that weight scale - Mundine must have been keen on the money to take up the challenge - Overall Mundine is a slightly better fighter.

World wide pay TV receipts were huge, and remember the whole event was underwritten by SA Government.

You can be a popular villain in combat sports though. Thatā€™s why there are heels in fake wrestling. Iā€™d guess that his biggest fights against pacman, hatton, de la Hoya and cotto etc a lot of people watched but were barracking for his opponent.

Hating on Mundine is probably the exact response he is angling for.

Everything is marketing. Nothing is real.

So Mayweather and McGregor have apparently agreed to terms. Will be a disaster.

Everyone is going to watch it though. The hype will be huge and given mayweather is so unlikable, most will watch and hope for the 1% chance McGregor has of wining.

In reality Iā€™m expecting a massively fixed fight. Neither have any incentive to actually fight, especially if itā€™s a 100 million payday. A staged fight with mayweather win but McGregor to not be embarrassed, both laughing all the way to the bank.

Have no idea why Mayweather would be unpopular - Probably about the best boxing technician in the history of boxing

Though I am surprised he is returning to the ring.

He is very popular to the purists, but a) he is a defensive fighter not a knock out artist but more so b) beats his wife and comes across generally as a ā– ā– ā– ā– , at least his persona anyway.

If you canā€™t work out why Mayweather is unpopular, you need your head checked. Nobody doubts his ability.

Great Boxer, ā– ā– ā– ā–  human being

Nah, no idea why heā€™d be unpopular

"In 2002, Mayweather was charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of misdemeanor battery. He received a six-month suspended sentence and two days of house arrest and was ordered to perform 48 hours of community service.[202]

In 2004, Mayweather was given a one-year suspended jail sentence, ordered to undergo counseling for ā€œimpulse controlā€ and pay a $1,000 fine (or perform 100 hours of community service) after being convicted of two counts of misdemeanor battery against two women.[203]

In 2005, Mayweather pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge after hitting and kicking a bouncer, receiving a 90-day suspended jail sentence.[204][205]

On September 9, 2010, it was reported that Mayweather was being sought by police for questioning after his former girlfriend, Josie Harris, filed a domestic battery report against him. Harris accused Mayweather of battery in the past, but those charges were dropped in July 2005 after Harris testified that she had lied and that Mayweather had not battered her.[205] Mayweather was taken into custody September 10, 2010, but was released after posting $3,000 bail. Mayweather was initially charged with felony theft (stemming from the disappearance of Harrisā€™s mobile phone); on September 16 two felony coercion charges, one felony robbery charge, one misdemeanor domestic-battery charge and three misdemeanor harassment charges were added.

On December 21, 2011, a judge sentenced Mayweather to serve 90 days in the county jail for battery upon Harris in September 2010. Mayweather reached a deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery in exchange for prosecutors dropping the felony battery charge. Mayweather also pleaded no contest to two counts of misdemeanor harassment, stemming from threats to his children. In addition to the 90-day sentence Mayweather was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, a 12-month domestic-violence program and to pay a fine of $2,500.[206] On June 1 Mayweather began serving his county jail sentence,[207] and was released in August 2012."

He must be going all-right and have some popularity seeing he makes millions and millions boxing - Which suggests most donā€™t care about his off-field activities - Nothing wrong with a defensive boxer or in other words a technically proficient boxer.

Nah, no idea why he'd be unpopular :/

He may be unpopular in your view and in the view of others - But not so unpopular to make him about the biggest money-maker in boxing - Perspectives can be confusing.

You asked why he is unpopular. You have had it explained. In boxing people dont need to like you to want to watch your fight. He is unpopular because he is a crap smug human being. Mundine isnt a popular human being yet does all right from a monetary point of view.

Now Yacoā€¦ if you could find a way to turn your lack of popularity into cash you would be on a winner.

Independent review of the Green v Mundine fight has been done and Green was found to have won ā€œeasilyā€ on points.

CompuBox, a respected American-based fight analyst which has been used to appraise some of the boxing worldā€™s biggest events, shows that Green not only threw nearly double the number of punches than Mundine, but also landed 23 more.
Hope this puts a full stop to all the carry on and sooking from Mundine

Are they the Champion Data of boxing?

Mayweather being a brilliant athlete has nothing to do with popularity. He is possibly the most despised person in sport. And itā€™s a title that is well deserved. He is rich because he is damn good at what he does. Possibly the best ever. But popular? Not by any definition of the word I know. I donā€™t want to put to one side that he is repeat offender woman bashing cretin either like you do.

Yaco logic: Mayweather must be popular because he is wealthy.
