I understand where you are coming from but I agree with other people here that he should be dropped for next week. We are probably going to lose anyway, and it’s about time he was given a message - no one is indispensable. His work rate is pathetic at the moment and he is only trading on his family name.
Charlie is a Bomber so that is something.

What message? LIterally the moment Hooker is moved out of the forwardline… JD looked dangerous. The moment our midfield actually used the ball through the middle with any degree of competence… JD looked dangerous.
In the 3rd quarter, JD set up 2 goals directly through great marks and pinpoint passes and kicked 2 himself. He also looked very dangerous in the last and could have had another 2 goals…
SO he was, without doubt, our most dangerous forward in a pretty kaka game but we should drop him? Yeah but nah… he is out of form but still actually trying. No he isn’t going to put a lot of pressure on defensively… he is a 2mtr+ giant… that shouldn’t be his job. Also our zone is so stupid that he would just be wasting his energy. There is absolutely no reason for any of them to give a ■■■■ with our gameplan being so woeful… they know that it makes no difference where they stand in space…!!
So yeah… send a message/drop him… whatever but I personally think it would be a dangerous and silly decision. I think send Hooker back, play Stewart as CHF and have JD play deep forward with stints in the ruck… you know like last year… and let him kick his 3.5 goals a game again…

That’s all true, but Essendon captured our hearts long ago, so we have 2 choices, like it or lump it. Could never bring myself to lump it, and so I/we continue on this not so merry cycle.

No more loose people in defence or forward. A player needs to start coming off the square. Tbell needs to do old fashion rucking, none of this tapping crap. Hooker needs to go into defence. See ball, get ball. Don’t sit back and wait for someone else to do it. And most off all as a player show that you are pis@## off.

We were this pea hearted long before the saga
If anything that Essendon knows best and we are awesome because we are Essendon is what allowed the saga to even occur.
We focused on all of Sheedys achievements and thought they made us great in the modern era.
But it was the process and the struggle.
It’s an endemic problem though out the club. What we have now is a bunch of soft, self entitled kids who think wearing red and black makes them great.
