Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times back in the NSL days and he was so passionate about soccer and was as down to earth as you would ever meet. Bumped into him several years later in Kaiserslautern at the 2006 WC. Hungover as buggery I staggered into a cafe the next morning still in my Socceroos jersey and next thing I know Les and a couple of the other SBS boys sided up next to us and started talking about the game. Chatted for about a hour about all things soccer before they had to get on the train to the next venue. He had some absolute brilliant stories to tell and said that the win against a Japan was close to the proudest day of his life, he just wanted to see soccer succeed in this country.
Les and his best mate Johnny are finally back together again
A super talented and influential figure in the field of sport and culture in Australia - A multi faceted performer who can present, commentate, write, produce and edit for TV, radio and print - His correct use of pronunciation was at another level.
RIP Sam Shepard, 73 years old. The right stuff is still one of my favorites
Jeanne Moreau, of Jules et Jim and many other films.
Decent knock. Aged 89.
She was big back when Yves Montand and Jean-Paul Belmondo were big.
Betty Cuthbert. Only person to have won Olympic gold in the 100m, 200m + 400m events.
What a shame…
He’s in a tie with N Nolte for ownership of the greatest mug shot of all time.
He’s a rhinestone assholle.
I assume you knew him personally?
Yes, he used to run the newsagency in Rosanna. On several distinct occasions he failed to deliver my newspaper and refused to provide recompense, either financial or otherwise.
This one is fantastic.
N Nolte isn’t deceased but in the interests of comparison.
I don’t know what he was accused of but that shirt is a crime against humanity.
Hold on Nick Nolte ISNT dead?
I think he meant undead?
