Celebrity deaths 2021

Great another movies thread awesome

Leon Spinks has died aged 67. He famously defeated Muhammad Ali for the WBA + WBC world heavyweight titles by split decision in 1978 in only his 8th professional bout only to lose the title via UD in the rematch several months later. He also won the light heavyweight gold medal for the US at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Older brother of former undisputed light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Michael, Leon never did regain the level of accomplishment he acheived by defeating Muhammad Ali and was still a strong competitor into the 1980ā€™s but was never the same after being on the wrong end of a supreme battering from then world heavyweight champion, Larry Holmes. Spinksā€™ son Cory was once the undisputed middleweight world champion and IBF junior welterweight champion. Spinks was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2019 and died Feb 5 2021.

Simple - I started a Sci Fi book and got through a chapter before the boredom set in, while I lasted 15 minutes watching a Sci Fi movie - Itā€™s not my kind of genre.

Imagine you did the same with food?

Oh I tried Italian once in the 80s and it wasnā€™t for me

I did that with Japanese food. Too bland for me.

Not keen on their movies eitherā€¦except for Kurosawa.

But, and this will be the one and only time I ever do this, Iā€™ll agree with yaco on sci-fi and fantasy. Bores me senseless.

Ah crap, that was unexpected. Only a few days ago she released a vid talking about putting out some solo and unreleased material in time for her next birthday.

That now means Diana Ross is the last of the founding members.

Iā€™d throw in over the top special effects too - theyā€™re tedious and monotonous

Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt.

Cannot begin to tell you how important his magazine was to me as a teenage boy in the 1980ā€™s

His greatest achievement was gaining the support of the US Supreme Court 8-0 for the protection of political satire. A very close second was all the beautifully photographed clungeā€¦

Although I must confess to never having heard that word before, Iā€™m very confident that I know what youā€™re referring to.

Bummer about Chick.

As always seems to be the case with these, I didnā€™t even know he was unwell.

Was lucky enough to hang out with Chick and his band after a gig back in the 70ā€™s. Nice guy.
