Are they sure about that this time?
It really shouldn’t be a case of being first with the news regarding someone passing away. At least give respect to the family and let them disclose rather than a media outlet. Seems as if, should he still be alive, that he’s on the way out. Sad, 72 is not super old…
Family seems to have confirmed it now.
That’s a tough blow to take on Christmas Eve.
Sydney’s first captain and was instrumental in convincing his teammates that moving to Sydney was the right move for the club.
A great mate of Ricky Quade! Still remember the night he showed up at the Brownlow wearing his Williamstown jumper he’d worn in a flag win the previous day, and been BOG to boot. Celebrated long into the night, and the next day, and the next night.
Never forget Barry Round kicking a big bag of goals(8 or 10?) against us at the SCG just before the 1984 finals series and helping the Swans destroy us by near on ten goals. What was amazing was this was near the end of his VFL career.
RIP Big Fella.
Used to come and do lap swimming at the Broadmeadows Leisure Centre in the 80’s. Possible the biggest shoulders I have seen on a bloke. Incredibly fit for an era that didn’t necessarily support good training practices.
Would have to say, football wise, got the absolute most out of himself. Brownlow, JJ Liston, VFA premierships. and best on ground in a Grand Final at 40. Not to shabby.
Vale David. Legend of the game. Went to school with his son David at Gladdy Park and played some footy with him. My condolences to the family, even tougher at this time of the year. RIP.
Tearin off tights with my teeth
Rip Maxi Jazz

News coming through that the great Brazillian footballer Pele has sadly succumbed to the inevitable. 82yo … RIP.
I heard God had a hand in that.
For those of us that remember YTT
