yes, plus how many viet deaths? I am talking about the sum total.
No you weren’t…your own specific words say “hundreds of thousands of his own people”.
So he’s a piece ■■■■ then his death should be celebrated
Youve literally deliberately cut the quote off right before I say “and the Vietnamese people”… i mean come on dude.
Yea Nino that’s correct. Go with what some people on here say.
Nah…maybe you could use some punctuation to make yourself clearer because that’s not how I read your OP
no worries, misunderstanding
This should be in the Celebrated Deaths 2023 thread. Mods.
So people who feel compelled to say they didn’t like Friends etc can have their posts blocked here and be redirected?
Not a bad idea.
How many people did Friends kill?
Even I wouldn’t that to you.
Kissinger was a deadset murdering ■■■■ up there with Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot. If you visit Vietnam or Cambodia, you can still see examples of his policy handiwork.
A by line in a story of Kissinger I saw on CNN sums up his life and legacy as a diplomat.
Famed. Revered. Reviled.
His direct diplomatic actions led to lot of good and a lot of bad.
He greatly contributed to the end of the Vietnam war and also the ceasefire agreement in the Israeli-Arab Yom Kippur war.
Perhaps his greatest achievement was the de-escalation of confrontational posture between the US and Russia in the height of the Cold War. Who knows how many lives that saved?
Does all that good outweigh the number of lives lost that could have been prevented if he directed his diplomatic efforts differently?
I’ll leave it to others to decide.
ADD:
His bypassing congress to approve the carpet bombing in the Vietnam war, was an action that the South Vietnamese wanted as a part of getting their agreement in getting a ceasefire with the North.
Imagine making that decision. OMG.
He’s a big reason why there’s no peace in the Middle East. Separately but related he completely screwed over the Kurds.
He played Pakistan and India off against one another, leading to the deaths of millions of Bangladeshis in the civil war.
He was proof that the pen was mightier than the sword.
Playing devil advocate, doubt he was the soul reason of Vietnam
Might have been the sole reason though
Wouldn’t the President be ?
