Hardwick said that he thought that Richmond were starting to become over coached.
at the end of 2016 they got rid of williams and a lot of other coaches
completely changed the club
went to to a basic game plan
made the environment more enjoyable etc
won premiership

what happens if it turns out itās not the coaches, itās simply the players ?
itās funny that some of the people on here who will say that weāve been the same for 15 years, will also jump on the bandwagon that neeld is the issue and get rid of him and all will be resolved.
then his style at collingwood and melbourne are proclaimed to be this this and this, yet thatās not how we are playing now, infact we are playing even more aggressive albeit dumb sligshot footy cos all our forwards are pushing way way way up the ground, to the point where the canāt bomb it long around the boundary, cos thereās no one ā ā ā ā ā ā ā there.
Neeld was also there last year, and there wasnāt this much disorganisation or visible angst towards him.
was he there in 2015 ?

I know a few of the players were.
by no means am i saying keep neeld or that he is hard done by or peoples opinions of him arenāt true or valid.
but thereās something more rotten going on at the club, and itās got to do with the players.
Itās a funny vicious cycle though.
they create a gameplan and believe the senior players will get on board and execute.
for whatever reason they donāt, and turn on them.
the coaches donāt back their style in enough to drop said senior players.
senior players keep their spots, keep underperforming and getting bad results.
end result, sack the coaches.
players turn up preaseason next year and resume like nothings happened. funny how the football micronism works.

I hear you, I do but this is a coaching review thread not a player review thread.
And Iāll say againā¦ the players are copping their fair share of this mess but most of us are observing that our SET UP is wrong. The players have no chance playing the style we are trying toā¦ it will ALWAYS be shut down by good opposition.
That is why future stars like McGrath are suddenly turning it over by hand and footā¦ he looks up and has nowhere to go, or he tries to go into the middle to sling shot and runs into 4 defenders hunting him. Right nowā¦ our players donāt want the ball because they are just going to get smashed and have no support.
McGrath is not a bad playerā¦ he is a gun in our team and would be a gun in any teamā¦ so why is he struggling so bad in our system??

A little worrying that the opposition have worked it out before our players have been able to work it out.

yeah yeahā¦ the forward press is where the game is at right now and it was the evolution to beat the slingshotā¦ so naturally we are getting smashed.
We are literally doing the complete opposite of what everyone else is doing but not in a good innovative way but in a bad āwe got left behind againā way.
