Coaching Team Review - please make new plans for 2019

There were signs in the 2nd half of last season

These board members get paid hundreds and thousands of dollars to make the right choices.
How the ■■■■ did they manage to assemble a coaching panel consisting of these ■■■■■.
It is seriously the biggest ■■■■ up ever.
I want our ceo to come out and explain what the benefits are of each one of these guys selected and how they have met the criteria so far.
Our club is being run by a bunch of pelicans who have turned the players so far away from playing footy that they don’t seem to be enjoying it anymore.

Like they said on The Couch the club is trying to buck the trend by playing fast footy but it’s not working.

One of my favourite things about Blitz is the little mannerisms of speech I note here among posters.

“Coach X must be placed in a cannon and fired into the sun immediately” is one of my favourites and always gives me a solid giggle.

It has been used strongly in this thread and I suspect it will continue to be for some time.

No they don’t. They don’t get paid a cent.

There are some who join Boards to advance their business interests. There are others with a strong commitment to the club who consider they can help to advance their club.

Followed by that teletubby Shipworth.

@Catherine_Lio can you shed light as to why we signed up woosh after one win this season? What is the feeling inside the club leadership on the coaching panel?

Other than woosha what are the contract lengths for the rest of the coaching panel?

Thank you!

In fact Emilio, being an EFC Board Members costs them a ■■■■■-load of money, and they have to put up with abuse from dills on Blitz.

They don’t have to put up with anything. If it’s such a ■■■■ place to be then are free to stay out.

How does it cost them money? Where is the evidence they donate to the club?

Firstly:
Each of those players you mentioned will be in Richmond’s best 22, they’ll just play with more pressure than they are now
Secondly:
Can you stop posting from your phone or at least re-read it. The autocorrect is terrible on your phone. Guessing you have a samsung because o have the same issue as well (I also have fat fingers)

I’m pretty sure being a board member is an “honourary” position. They dont get paid but they also dont work 40 hours a week at the club.

They are. Everyone is. But they don’t. Like us they are proud passionate Essendon people. Both Katie and Paul originally ran on a platform of engagement. Both delivered on that in spades and continue to do so. Many tried the same after them, thinking it was an easy in. It never was, as those who tried have discovered.

Before them our board was remote and unaccountable, like every other footy club board. Our club is a far better place for their involvement and that you neither appreciate that, nor see the need to show any respect for it, says far more about you than it does them.

I don’t think our board is any more accountable now than it has been in the last 10 years or so

I’m happy for their engagement and contribution but to call it courageous as was mentioned earlier is over the top.

And to call this place difficult, feral etc is also uncalled for (sorry I forgot who referred to it as that). No other place provided support just this place during the saga.

There’s all types of courage, both physical and mental. To show up here the day after Hirdy resigned, knowing the mood, knowing it was a no win situation, but believing it was the right thing to do, is, in my book, very courageous.

Your namesake was on the board pre and post saga… never heard a word from him.

I don’t think anyone was referring to simply posting here, but turning up when the easy option is to not.

And you must have a totally different blitz experience than me, because, at times, feral is exactly the right word.
